Review : Don’t walk away is a nice and easy to read romance novel. The story is well written and the plot is well developed. It is part 3 of a series and although you do notice that there were previous books during reading, it does not disturb the flow too much so it is also readable as a standalone.

The Idea of having a second chance on your first love is intriguing and therfore the plot itself is a very good one. The reader follows Deans journey back in Emmas heart. And he really uses all his skills to get what he wants. I enjoyed the book.

The only thing that disturbed my reading a little was the odd chapter numbering and the way the story of other people was included (which goes hand in hand). I would have prefered the story of the other people to be “more” included or totally left out.

Review:

After reading the other books of this series, I was more than happy to finally read the last book.

Right from the beginning of this book, I was caught up in the Lily-Stuart-bubble.

It’s obvious how much their relationshop developed during the last books which is even more visible in the final book.

Not only the relationship, moreover the protagonists. Lily definetly got stronger and more self-confident which is something I really like. And then there is Stuart who drove me literally crazy! He was stubborn before…and special…and challenging…and overcautious…just himself. But in this book, there were so many scenes in which I really just wanted to shout at him(especially because of the talking-problem which you will get to know when you read the book).

Especially about the challenging part which is a very important part of the story as both characters seem to drive themselves crazy by trying to do what they want to do ,I literally got crazy. In combination with a lot of steamy, sexy and INTENSE scenes, you as a reader are just sitting in front of the book gasping for air. No wonder that I had to invend the “Stuart after-read hair” 😉 .

It was really really frustrating, but the same time you were confronted with the love you know that exists!

And not that their behavior isn’t enouth reason for trouble…there are still other characters like Megan who even makes everything more difficult.

I really like they way how the characters are intertwined and work out the story together even if there are some scenes in which I would have expected a different reaction. There are situations in which both protagonists decide to do some things which at first seem to be kind of not logical for the reader. But after thinking about these scenes some more, it seems logical-not only because the developent of their personality, also because of the things happening around them.

Seeing that sometimes even if it hurts, getting away can be better than confronting yourself over and over again. …

In a lot of books the female characters change everything in order to fit to the lifestyle or situations of the men which is not bad, of course, but it’s refreshing to see how there is a different way to cope with such situations. Cheers to the strong Lily!

Another point is the fact that it was also lovely to see different sites of the characters while being surrounded by other people like family. It was a joy seeing Stuart together with his family behaving like the little cheeky boy who is still inside of him.

And did I mention: Stuart in a kilt!?!?! Enouth said :D(I will never get this picture out of my head again….).

There are also some other aspects I thought about a long time. Scenes, in which things happened that could be perhaps a little bit difficult to identify with (scenes I won’t lay out at this point as it would mean spoiler alert). That’s something which happens with every book as every reader sees the book in a different way which is why I love to talk with others about them.

Even if in the situation, something seems “strange”, at the end it appears logical which let’s you accept things you haven’t seen before in the same way…

To sum up I need to say that I really liked this book and it was totally worth it to wait for its publication. It’s great to see that there are still authors who write what they want to write without changing things , because others don’t do it the same way. Rigth now, I am especially talking about their special relationship including the BDSM which plays an important role until the very end. After reading various books of this genre, the ending of this series really is something different.

So surprise yourself and read this book!

Review : When I first started reading this book I actually haven’t read the other Stark books which I did before reading this book. I am sure must people wouldn’t have had a problem with the “missing knowledge”, but when I read a book, I want to know what’s going on and what the tiny details mentioned could mean. I think it is possible to read this as a book for which you doesn’t need to read the other books, but I would highly recommend it. When I turned the first pages, I was confronted with the for me not unknown Sylvia Brooks who seems to be a strong character just like Nikki is. I normally don’t want to compare characters created by one author, but in this case I need to as while reading the first 50 pages I didn’t know what I should think about her as she was in my opinion 1) to similiar to Nikki and it was 2) obvious that she is haunted by ghosts from the past as well. I asked myself the question “Which was good enough reason for the author to write this books?”. Actually, after I finished half of the book I got my answer as the story got filled more and more with sometimes smaller, sometimes even bigger “goodies” which answered my inner thoughts including the words “I am so sure there is something!”. During the course of action we get to know Sylvia and Jackson(and of course not to forget Cassidy) who have been intertwined since the past which made Sylvia do something which influenced not only her, but also Jackson’s life. From the point of the protagonists meeting again (actually because Sylvia was forced to) , the reader is confronted with a heated relationshop which at first is based on a fundament which would actually destroy every relationship(based on revenge!?-not working). The intimate scenes are described in a pretty intense way, some of them more than others. It develops in a direction which connects the characters even deeper. Something which is described in a way the reader can totally feel with. I loved the fact that her tattoos play such an important role. The fact that it is something the author set her focus. The way Sylvia used them “as therapy” which made her character even more interesting. You can see directly from the very beginning that there are secrets which will be important, things that have the power to destroy(also behind the tattoo’s). Besides all these lovely aspects I found while reading, the ending is next to the “too many similarities” the reason why I rated this book with just 4 Stars. Actually I had the same problem with the Stark series. In my opinion it was too obvious why Jackson seems to have “some issues” with Damien, especially in the scene in which their similarities are described through Evelyn’s eyes. The hint was too obvious in my opinion. And then two pages later J.Kenner again rescued the book in a way I can’t describe. An ending which left me with the thought: “If I will find the second part of this series as a ARC, I am totally (book quote) at your service, J. Kenner.”

I hope the story is going to develop in a different direction than in the other books. Not that I don’t like “the other books”, but I am so sure that the background story of the character’s have so much potential. But moreover, I am very happy to be able to get to know Sylvia even better even if I really want to know what happens to Damien and Nikki.

Review : There were many layers to this story. First of all let me mention that the storyline basically was very well developed and it included sufficient twists and turns to make the book an interesting read. The Development of the Story and the Characters is good and deep enough. The Writing is fluent and the Author pays attention to details.

We have the “male-lead” who may or may not be a guy named “Cameron” as he does not know himself who he is. In addition, we have our “female-lead” Kelly, who is trying to solve the mystery of our Guy with Amnesia, as he ends up as her patient. Surrounding this is the developing relationship between „Cameron“ and Kelly which is given the nature of their „Business” totally inappropriate.

While Kelly remains a predictable character, “Cameron” gives the reader Whiplashes with his behavior.

That may sound annoying but as a matter of fact it gave the story a certain element that separates this book from other books with similar storyline.

The plot had basically one flaw only to reach a five star value and that was the strangely explained “insta” attraction that Kelly felt for “Cameron”. The author paid so much attention to details that it’s basically almost a “sin” (pun intended) that the Beginning is kept so “flat”. On the first pages, I had to push myself through the story in the hope to find more than this annoying “insta” attraction. Don’t get me wrong – there is nothing wrong with love at first sight … but the way its lately described in novels it seems far less romantic.

But once I left my mixed feelings concerning this “insta” attraction aside I could relate easily with the characters and the developing story

I will surly take a look at the next books of this series.
