Anson Steele, along with his two brothers and father, lives by one code: Help all in need. Even if it means saving those who walk among the most sinister criminals in the world. Known as The Black Stallions, their mission is simple – provide rescue and safety to the innocents drawn into the evil depths of the underground.
Natalia Alvarez has been sold to the leader of one of Argentinian’s largest drug cartels at an underground human auction. Being sold to the highest bidder, she is now nothing more than a possession of Juan Montez and hidden away deep within the walls of his South American compound.
Anson Steele has been on the hunt for Natalia since the day he first saw her at the auction and helplessly had to watch her while not being able to do a thing about it. But he has made it is life’s mission to find this woman and pull her out of the depths of hell at whatever cost. She will be his save one way or another.
With the backdrop of the mission being the unforgiving jungles and the dangerous streets of Argentina, and escaping a foreign country near impossible, is Natalia doomed to be locked away forever?
While fighting against a powerful drug cartel and their ruthless leader, will Anson Steele be able to rescue Natalia before it is too late? Will they both be able to find refuse in The Black Stallion Ranch and put this awful nightmare behind them?
The last installment in the trilogy kind of left me disappointed. Don’t get me wrong this book has its merits.
I have to say that I prefer the main characters in this book to the others in the previous books. Anson isn’t as hotheaded as Maddox or Stryder.
Anson is meticulous and is the clever one of the bunch. He plans it all out but he didn’t count on Natalia recognizing him and not wanting to go with him. Since he saw Natalia at the auction he can’t get her out of his head.
Anson is a strong alpha lead but knows that when he isn’t capable of doing something he concedes and lets Natalia take the lead. Refreshing I tell you.
Natalia Alvarez former Drug Cartel Princess lost her whole family in a massacre to the Montez Cartel. She planned to be at that auction to avenge her family but after six months. She willing went with Montez. But there is something holding her back.
Natalia is a sassy heroine with a backbone made of steel but she was also a tad boring. She showed some vulnerability but there was just too much time they spent alone in the jungle in Argentina. Yes, I know they get to know one another and all that jazz but nothing happens.
These two authors know how to write and they bring real emotions into the book and they harmonize well with one another. The story is captivating and has you in high anticipation of what is going to happen. But for some reason it just didn’t work for me. But that’s not to say that it won’t work for you.
If I would have to try and pinpoint it why it personally didn’t work for me then I would say that I found the plot of the drug cartel to be slightly weaker compared to what happened in books 1 & 2. But nevertheless, an enjoyable read with likeable characters and authors who know what they are doing.
An epilogue for all would have been the icing on the cake and that Anson did fulfill his “cheesy” dream of climbing Mount Everest as a homage to his parents.

Is it possible to pick that one defining moment in life that fucked you up? Can anyone look back on their life and pinpoint the exact minute it happened? I used to believe that I wasn’t fucked up. I had absolutely no reason to be.
Until I met him.
Axel Rye.
Yes.
He fucked me up.
He really fucked me up.
It all started so simply. I only wanted to write a book about the dark, gritty world of nightclubs, booze, drugs, and sex. I didn’t expect to be sucked in to the point where I could no longer see the light. But I became weak. Axel Rye made me weak.
He was wrong in every way. He was a drug dealer, a criminal, and someone your parents told you to stay away from. Yet, he became my drug, and I shook in need until my next fix.
I was delicate.
He was scarred.
But together…together we became delicate scars.
NOTE: this book is a greatly revised version of a previously released book no longer available titled Ruby Rose.

Dark… seductive… promise
Stryder Steele, along with his two brothers and father, lives by one code: Help all in need. Even if it means saving those who walk among the most sinister criminals in the world. Known as The Black Stallions, their mission is simple – provide rescue and safety to the innocents drawn into the evil depths of the underground.
Zoya Morozova has been kidnapped and ready to be sold at an underground human auction in Moscow. Being sold to the highest bidder, she has no idea her life is about to change when her new Master is the dark and mysterious… Stryder Steele.
Bad boy Stryder remembers the pain of being unable to save another but he’ll put his life on the line to save this beautiful Russian farm girl. When he buys Zoya with the purpose of rescuing her, he has no idea that she may have the power to rescue him as well.
Flown to The Black Stallion Ranch, and with the help of Zoya and the knowledge of the human sex trade she has, can the Steeles put together the pieces in time to save all the innocent women who had been sold to the monsters of the underground, or will they lose to the mastermind of it all?
Publisher’s Note: This book contains graphic sex and BDSM elements.
3.5 Stars
If you haven’t read the first book then don’t read the review there are some references to it.
Stryder picks off exactly where Maddox stopped. This is a great addition and continuation in the Black Stallion Trilogy. There is suspense in the book with complex and flawed characters. Dark and seductive.
Stryder has picked his save in the hope to fight against Poplov who killed nearly all of Adira’s family. Anson and Stryder go off to Russia to find out more about the sex slave ring infiltrate it and annihilate everyone that is involved.
Zoya is naïve she leaves her family in a small village in Russia to move to Moscow to take a job there. She trusts the first person she meets and ends up in a sex slave ring.
Due to Stryder’s past it is hard for him to stand abuse against women. His past is tragic. He wants to save every woman that is at that auction but they can’t. But they will do their best to get them all back.
Stryder is hard and cold as well as calculating. I liked him at the beginning but there were times his treatment of the heroine was unjustified. For me there was one scene where if written wrong might be seen as non-consensual in a way. Especially if this is one of your pet peeves.
But Zoya also treated Stryder unfairly and with a difficult topic she didn’t let him talk about something really important she behaved like a petulant child and wasn’t my favourite heroine that I’ve read so far this year. I didn’t always see the connection between the MC.
Tackling the topic of a sex slave is difficult and it is done well. In my opinion anyway. I found certain scenes put me out of my comfort zone but they belong in the book otherwise it would be too glossy. I enjoy the BDSM elements.
If you like all of the above and want to read something different then this is the read for you. Anson ins next and I look forward to his book.

Maddox Steele, along with his two brothers and father, lives by one code: Help all in need. Even if it means saving those who walk among the most sinister criminals of the world. Known as The Black Stallions, their mission is simple—provide rescue and safety to the underground.
Adira Nazar has no idea her entire life is about to explode into a million pieces. With her life in extreme danger, her only choice is to hand over complete trust to a dark and mysterious man she has never met… Maddox Steele.
Just another job…
Someone to protect like all the others…
But when Maddox sets eyes on Adira, all bets are off. She is his save, and he’s determined to make sure that nothing happens to this exotic beauty trapped in a ruthless world.
Tucked away at The Black Stallion Ranch, and with the few clues they have, can the Steeles put together the pieces, or will they lose Adira to the clutches of darkness?
Publisher’s Warning: This book contains graphic sex and BDSM elements.
Once upon a time, there was a girl who thought her favourite love was riding her horse across the dunes of Arabia, until she saw a cowboy in a black hat. From that moment, her destiny was changed….
Adira Nazar’s an Arabian princess is the daughter of one of the most important families who have legal businesses and not so legal businesses. What she doesn’t know is that her world is about to implode.
The heroine in the book is strong, sassy but at the same time quite naïve. There were times that she behaved like a spoilt brat and pouted as a child. But overall I admire her persistence and her strength to deal with what was happening to her.
The Steele family has a twenty year old debt to pay that debt is getting key family of the Nazar’s family out of Dubai as they are in danger.
Maddox was there for the save of Adira but in the end she is hers. Mine. This is an action packed book with main and secondary characters I just can’t get enough of.
The blurb sounded really quite cheesy to be honest but cheesy blurb aside hands down. I haven’t read something so unique and original.
There are BDSM elements in the book and although done well there were times were I thought that Adira was really quite out of her depth and that her feelings and behaviour were out of place when it came to the chemistry with Maddox.
The ending was a bit rushed but there is somewhat of cliffhanger but with Adira and Maddox’s story being wrapped up Stryder’s book is next. Maddox’s adopted brother.
I read this book because my friend Mareike read it and left such a great review that I had to check it out and all I can say is that I really enjoyed this book a lot.
