Review :

With book number seven iin the Club Sin series,Stacey Kennedy wrote a conclusion that left me exactly the way I want to feel like after finishing such a series: satisfied. You get a story that picks up all loose ends while still leaving room for a new mesmerizing story. A story including lots of awesome characters that make it so easy to connect with them. It´s not borig while at the same time the talented author didn´t put too much into the story which made it a joy to read this book.

Very nice story with strong characters helping to create the end of a story which you definetly should read!

Review :Line of Fire by HelenKay Dimon was a tough read for me. I really wanted to like the characters as the basic plot appealed to me very much. But somehow I could not connect to them in the way I needed to. Usually I say that I need to feel something in order to review properly – and that means either good or bad feelings. But I never expected to feel so indifferent in a plot like this. The writing is actually quite good and I cannot even say that the characters are developed poorly. It is just that I simply do not like them that much and it was actually the plot that made me finish the book. If you like a kind of second chance romance, where the structure of who leads and who follows is not so clear as you might think than this might be your book. I on the other side will have to try another book from this author to see if it was just this book that did not “do” it for me or if it is a general writing style of this author.

Kimberly Rose really created two very interesting characters when she wrote “Truth in Wildflowers” – or shall I say several interesting characters ? Because actually we will find another interesting set of individuals With Wes and Capri in “Truth in Watercolors”.

Truth in Wildflowers is the debut Novel from this author and I was directly intrigued when I read the plot. Actually, I was surprised afterwards to find out it is a debut, as this was totally NOT noticeable.

Also I am very happy that I was not only offered this first book but also its Sequel to read directly afterwards. Therefore, I have decided to also write my review for both of those books together as I feel that they somehow belong together.

You could read them separate but I would not recommend that as we get to know Wes and Capri already in the first book and you would miss out on that if you only read the second.

Ms. Rose writing style is different from others I cam across lately. There were some lines where I was not sure if she was using “slang” or if there were mistakes in those sentences – so as I am bilingual and far from a perfect writer I will not comment on this. So when I say the writing was perfect – which it was – I thereby mean that the author transported the feeling, she was talking about, to me (the reader).

And I liked the authentic style of this writing – it felt like something the character could have actually thought or done at that point. It did not feel like a constructed line – made up to please the reader.

So I do not mind at all that I did not agree with the characters on some points of their thinking – like for example I felt that Kelsie was oversensitive in matters relating to her father. BUT on the other side, Ms. Rose had a way to show the reader what was going on inside Kelsie’s’ mind so that I could understand where she was coming from – even if I did not agree.

The storyline also feels authentic in both books. The developing relationships between those four characters seemed real and believable. In addition, I liked the attention that was paid to so many details in the development of the leads. Even if the basic plot was kind of heavy there were even some moments that had me laughing… like in HARD … (hint … Kristen Stewart halfsy smile?!)

I am not sure which of those 4 characters I liked the most but somehow I think it was Wes, as he captured my eye from the first book on. He had so many layers already there that I was really intrigued by him and very happy to see him leading us into “Truth in watercolors”.

True to the titels I believe the author kind of carved out very unique characters and I would really like to recommend both books to all readers that love a well developed romance with a fresh writing style.

I am looking forward to reading more from this author ….

Best Worst Mistake by Lia Riley is the 3rd book in the Brightwater series. And as I did not read the previous books I am always torn if I should choose to read a book right out of the middle – even if it sounds like it could be read as a standalone. But to my pleasant surprise the reader has not need to worry in this case – it can be read as a standalone novel without problems. Sometimes those “small town” series are missing out story wise but have great character development. Author have a lot of time from book to book to create good backgrounds but while doing that some of them overlook the actual story. So my second pleasant surprise was that the story not only circles around the two main characters but that there is also a mystery included. In addition, I have to admit – I was wrong with my guess at first – so it is indeed a quite good mystery too – so it is obvious that Lia Riley took a lot of effort in the development of this book. With Quinn and Wilder the author created two very complex and intriguing characters, that the reader cannot help but fall in love with both of themThe book is written flawless and should appeal to lovers of the general “Beauty and the Beast” theme – so please enjoy
