Review :“The Artist” by Shealy James is the second book of the Game Changers series and it after reading the first one also I have to say, that his one is even better than “The CEO”

I really consider myself lucky to be one of the first ones that has the pleasure to read this book.

By the title I would have never guessed how intense some of those dialogues were going to get. There is some serious “favorite quotes” material in this book.

Ms. James created wonderful characters in a very interesting plot. Even if the basic idea of the this novel is not new, the author presented it in a very fresh setting. And down to the supporting characters everything is well developed and flawlessly written.

I refuse to spoiler any content but one thing I have to say … ADAM – where did Ms. James get that guy … seriously OMG he was just … (no words)

Always looking for the special read … the one that touches you beyond all other reads it was sometime beginning of this year when I discovered “Raze” by Tillie Cole.

Its plot made it highly unusual book (at least for my usual reading taste) but somehow the blurb “spoke” to me and I had to read it.

And what can I say … this book blew my mind away and since reading this book I am a fan of those “one-word/name titles” – (funny how all those other books make me hope to find another one like this)

So it was never a question at all when I saw a second book of the “Scarred Souls” series pop up on my radar that I had to read that one too.

Basically this need already creates high expectations for a book and before you start guessing

– The Story lived up to ALL of them –

If it is even possible, the author became better than in the last book. Which is also the reason that I would recommend to read the books in the right order – even if it is not really necessary for the story.

Ms. Cole’s characters are deep and pure. Sometimes they might seem cold to an outsider looking in but to me it feels this is needed for them to be so pure. I always have goosebumps when thinking about the story.

If it is possible at all “Reap” creates an even darker environment than “Raze” did and the storyline flows so easy that the reader feels the need to turn on some lights while reading to not disappear in this darkness.

I can hardly wait for the next book and believe me my expectations again are high – but I am not afraid, because this author will deliver as expected I AM SURE

Review :

One thing I always like to mention at the beginning of a short story -review is that : please don´t expect a fully developed story as it´s obvious that you can´t tell the reader as much as in a full-length novel. “Rolling in the Deep” is also a short-story which is in my opinion no disadvantage as there are no loose ends at the end. Short-storys often also have a different pace which is this case pretty fast as a lot of things happen which makes reading even more interesting! With short-stories there is almost always the need to just find out more about the story and characters. We still get a lot of information, but even then I wouldn´t mind to get more 😉

One aspect I also want to mention is that I love the characters! Both characters are special in an own kind of way which makes it interesting to discover more character traits. It´s nothing surprisingly new, but even then a good read!
