| Books are my escape from reality and except trying to be safe that is pretty much the most important thing to me just now.
Any minute that you can spend with books is precious – always has been and always will be.
And I have a bunch of authors in my “go-to” circle that actually keep me sane. Vi Keeland is one of them. No matter if she writes alone or together with Penelope Ward.
(And I have no idea how they do it and I honestly would love to see how they actually work on writing their stories.)
I am wondering what I could tell you about Vi’s books that has not been said before in any of my other reviews.
The plot is actually simple on the surface. “Woman crashes wedding and gets caught” But with a good plotter like Vi nothing is ever as simple as it seems.
Her writing is flawless and just what you will want to have in your hands when you sit down on a rainy and cold sunday afternoon. You will start reading and you will be sucked into the story within minutes.
And even though in case of ” The Invitation” – I pretty much had figured things out early – it did not bother me at all.
The characters were so easy to relate to and I loved the plot. – The way the story was told it was so easy to see the settings and places.
Getting lost in the story was almost to easy.
It might not be the edgiest story Vi has ever written but it sure was the right one for me at this moment.
And I can only hope other readers feel the same way …
I also suggest keeping chocolate close when reading …
