Review : Please – Please … may I say it ? yes ? Thank you – so here it comes :
I KNEW IT …
God since the moment Ms. Cole introduced us to Dred in “The Purest Hook” I knew there was so much more to “Preload”. I can not remember seeing such a well developed set of second characters ever. Everything about them simply drew me in. The darkness, the light , the hope and the devastation.
I spend a lot of time hoping and praying that the author really was planning to give those guys a place to tell their story. One thing I was left wondering about …
If I could I would like to ask the author if she had already planned on this series or if it was really the birth of a series when those secondary characters almost overtook the book in that “second circle” series.
They were so strong and it was impossible to overlook the possibilities they were offering.
And Jordan did not disappoint for a second. He was just as I had imagined him.
A walking shell with a mask as face and a depth behind it that it almost hurt to read his thoughts.
Lexi was an interesting choice as his other half, I liked her for the most part except her relationship with her father, which felt a little to constructed in comparison to the complexity of Jordan and his bandmates.
I love the subtle way in which this author shows the reader more and more of the secondary characters that surround the couple on spot. Yet they never steal any light from them. She only does a great job at leaving the reader wanting to know more.
I need read the other books now almost as urgent as I wanted to read this one. One advice to new readers Yes you could read this book as a standalone.
But I assure you – you do not want to… Read the Purest Hook first – yes it belongs to a different series but it a kind of cross over and contains important information’s you need to get the full picture…
