OMG those two authors should basically need a permit for their pen weapon or whatever they use for writing.

Alone they are both strong authors but together they are almost invincible.

Like Cocky Bastard this book had me laughing so hard at times that in the end I marked again like 80 % of the book on my kindle as memorable quotes.

Seriously, I was laughing my ass off. Then there were the moments of reflecting and twists in the story … well they were not that deep like they were in Cocky Bastard but still.

Their writing is incredible and I cannot wait for their next book.

It´s filled with lots of sexual tension that is accompanied by lust, rawness and even a bit of a dark side that makes it a quick read.

I haven´t read any other books by this author yet, but think that her writing style is pretty interesting.

All in all a good story that at some times is lacking of a bit more deepness. I really enjoyed reading this book, but wished at some points for mote details, a bit more story…..

I will definetly look out for this author.

Dirtiest Secret

In general I am a big fan of this really talented author as she never fails to get me. Also not with this story. Again she created something that is filled with a man that without a doubt is meant to drive you crazy as he pushes the story forward in a way that makes it a joy to read this book.

In this book it´s also the combination of the male main character and the woman that kept me on the edge while reading. It´s another great book by a really talented author that never tends to fail.

Unfortunately the title of “One Broken Promise” by Deanndra Hall was all too fitting. I had high hopes about this book because the plot sounded really promising but unfortunately the storytelling did not work out for me.

The “bodyguard” theme together with the “bully” theme sounded intriguing so I chose to read it.

But the way it was handled was somehow off for me.

Hayden was supposed to be a strong guy that could handle stuff, but he came off as a tired 1970’s cop waiting for his next doughnut break. So I was already struggling with the “bodyguard” part of the plot when the “bully” was entered into the mix.

On top of that there was a third “string” thrown into the mix. And a Romance between the adults of that story.

I am so sorry to be so blunt but it felt like mixing oil and water – it will not work.

When the one side was up it felt like a YA novel but the other half was a strange mix between some psychological cop bodyguard something thriller that wanted to be a romance novel …

The line was finally crossed for me when it came to the ending and the way stuff was solved around “the villain” … – I was shaking my head thinking it could have only been worse if someone gave him a gun and said “Ahm I did not think he would shoot”.

I feel the author wanted to add too much into it – I know I am the odd one out here probably but it is how I feel.

If You’re Gone by Brittany Goodwin weaves an intriguing and believable story around the disappearance of Brad.

For me the book was not so much about the relationship between Lillian and Brad. It was more about how within only a few months a complete life can gradually change. Not like those total life changing events that change your life from one moment to another but like one of those backstabbing diseases that creep into your life slowly changing everything and when you finally notice it is too late.

Accompanying Lillian on her journey the reader starts to wonder if you really ever get to know a person even when he obviously seems to love you.

The story is told so believable that it could have actually happened or could happen at any given time. So please do not expect a big BANG when you are getting near the end of the book. In fact it is more a silent ending. There will be closure so much I can say without giving spoilers.

The end is also the reason that the book did not get 5 stars. The author did such a great job creating this whole plotline that I was a bit – well not directly disappointed but frustrated that the explanation we got was the way it was ( I can not say more to avoid giving away to much).

I would have expected something “different” not more complicated but also not so simple and I really did not need the last “chapter” because that is the only thing that sounded fake in this book – a slight change of the events before and without THAT time gap and it would have been perfect.

This book surprised me. This book captured me. This book made me feel….a lot!

What an amazing read! Really…..I still don´t know what to say even though I finished it two days ago. But now it´s time to write the review. Which is what I am doing right now- without talking about the first two books in the series which I haven´t read- yet. But I will do it for sure as this author is uncredibly talented.

At some points I was worried about her putting too much content in the story which at some points was the case. But it got better and better. Especially visible when looking at the development of the amazing characters that I definetly won´t forget about.

REVIEW VOLUME 1 + 2 + 3 .

Let me once again state clearly that I am not a fan of books that are cut in pieces – a series with cliffhangers is bad enough but cutting a good book into novellas is not the way to go for me – having said my piece about that let me get to my thoughts about the story.

After reading all 3 parts of this novel I would like to give my final thoughts.

I am still keeping my opinion that on opening an encyclopedia and check under “smug” you should probably find a picture of “Ash” … the newest leading character in Callie Harper’s book “Undone”. He is so cocky it borders on annoying – but only borders… as he is also kind of endearing so far once you manage to ignore his attitude.

I said “Lets wait how he develops later in the next part” when I read the first part – and I was right on that account

## It’s pretty easy being a rock god. Party. Perform. P*ssy. Repeat.##

That was his “mantra” for a long time in his life – but during the developing story you could notice that he was starting to have doubts about his lifestyle. And even if he was kind of annoying in the beginning the story relays his changes at an (for a book) believable pace.

My opinion on Ana remained the same – she is a Liberian in so many ways, that you actually believe her part – but – then on the other hand she is totally not the “geek” or “nerd” or whatever you would have expected her to be… yes I guess.

##Unicorn## is a good word for her.

But you also notice how her thoughts change. She basically goes through the full range of emotions. And that was a really well written piece.

The plot itself is not unique but the characters make reading it very enjoyable. Strangely I liked Ana more than Ash – which is really unusual for me. The writing was good and the characters were likable so I enjoyed the book when finally all parts were available.

I liked another book by this author so much it got 5 Stars (rare treat)

I like the blurb – wounded soldier having a thing for his best friends sister – (perfect)

So what happened ? Here I am again with one of those examples of a book that did not work for me even though basically it totally should have.

Yeah most probably I am the odd one out there when it comes to this book.

But in this case it is quite easy for me to point out the moment it went wrong and unfortunately that was within the first few pages already. Because for my very personal taste this book is starting out the wrong way.

It might be a fresh and unusual way but I feel it does not do the storyline justice. You do not get to know Cat before she sets out to what she is doing in those first pages (I am trying to avoid spoilers by being vague) – so her first impression with me was … ugh.. not one I would like to repeat in writing (sorry).

During the story that impression changes a little but you know what they say about those important first impressions.

And Preston – he just felt like a jerk keeping his distance from everything and everyone… but the way he did it – made me as a reader think – he REALLY should better stay alone. And that I believe is not what should have happened.

In total that complete setting took off on a wrong foot for me and even though the blurb was great the story already kind of lost me. So I found myself skimming through parts of the book which is never a good sign.

Towards the middle the developing of the story became better and I was reminded more of the writing style I recognized from the other book by this author that I really liked so I decided to finish reading the book. But still nothing could help erasing the opening chapter that I totally disliked.

So I am sorry to say but this book was not for me – which does not mean that you should not try it – because my problem was with the storyline and not because it was badly written or so.

Reviewing “Stim” by Kevin Berry is a difficult subject for me.

Every reader has certain genres that appeal to him. I found out long time ago that I like stories with unusual leading characters. People that are not the “norm”.

As a result of that I have read also my fair share of books that feature characters with Asperger’s – I googled quite a lot about it to get more background in understanding as I noticed quite a lot of different ways that this form of autism is described.

Just a short time ago I read a really good novel featuring a very similar subject as “Stim” – and I have ben agonizing now for an hour on the title of that book – to make the difference clear (as soon as I find it I will edit this review and add the title)

While I believe that the background research, facts as well as the thinking world of Robert have been captured perfectly. I still feel that this is not really a “novel” – it feels more like a memoire – like the diary that Robert is actually writing. And I found it difficult to stay focused.

Yes it was sweet and there was a lot of humor in it but the actual story of Roberts Journey to find a girlfriend became more of a side story to all the things that Aspergers IS.

God I really wished in this second I could remember the other books title to really make my point..

If were able to watch me during writing – you would have experienced now a 30 minute pause during which I had to search for the book – because I really needed to make my point clear.

The name is “No Ordinary Love” by J.J. Murray (https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/25488906-no-ordinary-love) This book features a quite similar subject but due to the different focus it works out better as a novel.

So therefore for this book – reviewed as a novel – my rating will not be more than 3 stars.

Most of the time I avoid time travel books. But I thought that I would make an exception for this one as it sounded different to the others that I had given a try.

Elena Martinez is asked to take part in a ‘research project’ at Aether Corporation as she is a foster kid and requires a lot of money to be able to ease out of the system she takes this opportunity. Elena along with four other teenagers travel to future.

But not is all as it seems, where secrets and lies are discovered and where you don’t know who you can trust. As I said it is promising but there were just too many strange things for me in the future and in some parts I felt as if there was some information being repeated.

All in all I’m glad that I read the book but I don’t think that I will continue with the series.
