Review : “No Kissing Allowed” by Melissa West was a “surprise read” for me.

I have to admit when I read the blurb already the names of several novels floated my mind to compare this book to. But even though there were several inevitable similarities this book still had enough unique moments to make it good.

But I will admit that the setting of this “agency”, than Aidan and also a good part of Cameron did remind me a lot of the Crossfire Novel but not in a bad way. More in a “if you are a fan of … you should read this” kind of way. But if I made that slogan I would mislead the readers, because the story itself was different – it was really only a part of the setting that reminded me.

Anyway – the plot is well developed and believable. The author writes at a good, steady pace and I totally like the character development. For me there is only one real issue with this book, which is also the reason it did not get a full 5 Stars.

My issue is the timeline. Cameron was already having her inner monologues about wanting more out of a relationship, while I as a reader felt she did not even get to really kiss the guy (I am not counting their first meeting).

Something along that “time management” felt off, there seemed to be to little communication between them for the time they were supposed to have spend together. But neglecting this personal issue I had (which others might feel totally different about) – this is a really good book I would like to recommend to you
