Review : To Tempt a Seal by Sara Jane Stone is the first book of the new “Sin City SEALs” series and my first by this author. The basic concept of this story was actually good but I have to admit that it was again the opening of the book who spoiled the fun for me. It seems that I have an actual problem with “Instant Love”. Even if the total subject of the opening was about finding a guy for one night, his behavior seemed “off” to me. I can not describe it in any other way.
For me to feel some sort of “instant love” I need to know more of the character before me than what I was offered in this case. I need to feel for them, their background – I need to feel where they are coming from . I could work with her PoV “guy for a weekend” turning into something serious – but his “instant addiction to her” was out of my reach. He was there to do “a job” and he did not even talk with her or actually see her really before he was already in “love”.
I was almost putting the book down when it became actually better, they talked and there was “something” that I could “feel” but around the middle/almost end of the book it was as much as I would have expected at the beginning to start with and by far not enough to …. (well read for yourself – not going to spoiler)
To make it short … Its not a bad story if you can work around the concept of “instant love” which seems to be a problem for me. The writing is good and the story itself is ok – Its an enjoyable “beach read” as I would call it … go ahead and judge for yourself
