Title : Falling Fast
Author : Tina Wainscott
Series : Falling Fast, #1
Rating : 5 Stars
Blurb : Fans of Jasinda Wilder and Colleen Hoover will adore this emotional new small-town romance—a smoldering tale of first love and long-awaited redemption from USA Today bestselling author Tina Wainscott. Raleigh West works in an auto shop day and night, trying to put his broken past out of mind. It’s been seven years since the fiery crash that landed his teenage sweetheart in the hospital . . . and him in jail. In an instant, he lost everything: his passion for racing, his hope of escaping his father’s shameful legacy, and the only girl he ever loved. Raleigh hasn’t seen her since that awful night. Never got a chance to apologize. And never forgave himself, either. When brave, beautiful Mia Wentworth returns to the Florida coast for the first time in what seems like forever, it’s not to see Raleigh. Even so, the moment she arrives she can feel his presence like a gust of wind that gives her goose bumps. Opening her heart to him again seems impossible. But staying away? That might be harder still. Lucky for them both, Mia’s never been the kind of woman to take the easy way out. Includes a special message from the editor, as well as an excerpt from another Loveswept title.
Review : With “Falling Fast” you have to deal with a book full of terrible secrets, moments which definetly cause tears and lots and lots of emotions. As a fan of Colleen Hoover(who is mentioned in the blurb), this book really attracted me which is why I was very happy to be able to read this book before the official publication. A comparison with this author means a lot when you know Colleen’s book. So I got even more exited. Right from the beginning you are confronted with the two protagonists whose lives are intertwined in a very dramatic way. The more they interact, the more you are able to build up a connection with the characters as their story is described in a lively and also touching way. I love the way how everyhing around them seems to actually work against Mia and Raleigh, but you are still sitting in front of the book hoping for a HEA-just because they deserve it…really deserve it! Together with the other characters like the family of them(especially Cole and Grannie Nancy), it’s easy to bound with the story. All these things sound like a clear 5-Stars-Read. The story itself really is worth 5 Stars. There were just some things which made me at the end decide otherwise like for example the point of view which at some points changed in a strange way, some scenes in which I definetly expected a different reaction or some scenes which felt like the copy of a scene which already exists in the book. There is actually nothing more to “critizise”, because I can say for sure, that I enjoyed reading this book. Also the ending which wasn’t like a big surprise, but still touching and emotional!
