Blurb : When Dr. Christopher Barnes awakens from a coma, his world lies in pieces. A neurotoxin has left the surgeon with a rare form of amnesia that prevents him from forming new memories. Any new information vanishes within moments. Then he learns that his wife has been murdered…and he’ll have to relearn this every day. He vows to solve the case himself, but the police have their own theory—one that puts him at the center of a conspiracy to commit homicide. Barnes spends his days piecing the crime together and trying to separate friend from foe. The more the cops build their case against him, the closer he gets to the truth…but the deeper he falls into danger.
Review : Dying to Remember by Glen Apseloff is an intriguing murder mystery that keeps you guessing until the last pages. It was my first book by this author and you can easy recognize that he knows what he is writing about and he enjoys using that knowledge. I had an idea about what to expect when reading the part of the amnesia, as I once saw a movie featuring a similar subject, but with the added bonus of the murder investigation, this book manages to keep you focused until the end.
The story reflects wonderfully and from all angles, the disturbing situation of a once very confident man that now is now so vulnerable, that his whole life depends on the fact that he never forgets to write down even the smallest thing.
Think about that for a minute …
