Her attraction to the former Marine is mutual and, unfortunately, a complication she doesnât need.Gabriel Briggs carries the weight of the world on his shoulders. Review : Blind Love by Kishan Paul was my first book by this author and I believe it is also her debut novel. I picked it up because of the interesting Blurb, as I like strong women that hold their own even in the presence of even stronger man.
The authors writing is good and she definitively gives her characters enough depth to make them ârealâ. Even those normally unlikeable âExâ partners leave you with an unexplainable âletâs hope she does another novel for him so he gets his HEAâ feeling.
In the first few chapters of the book, I found the strong woman but unfortunately, I was missing the strong man. Maybe it was my misunderstanding but when I read âMarineâ of course the whole thing around âhonorâ was also on my mind but I would have guessed that the focus would have been more on the âstrongâ. Instead, this novel came too near to the cliché of the small town romance novel.
Anyway around half way through the book when I was seriously considering if I would have to finish it another time as my mind was not into this kind of romance. As If the author had guessed what was on my mind â suddenly the pace of the story shifted and there were âthingsâ added to the mix to spice it up and it became interesting after all.
In total, a recommendable read for romance lovers and I will keep an eye on the next books from this author.
