Stella has never felt more drawn to anyone in her life, and soon she and Levi can barely stand to be apart. Stella is convinced that Levi is her soul mate. Why else would she literally ache for him when they are apart? After all, the heart never lies…does it?
Review : I believe that Alive is Chandler Bakerâs debut novel â which is amazing and almost hard to believe, considering how good it is. The writing is fluent and the story is well developed.
I admit I have some issues with the characters but that is really a matter of opinion I think. Others may not have any problems with them. It might seem that Stella is rude to her friends but I think the author wanted to point out how much she was drowning in her addiction to Levi â so I do not have any issue with that. My main problem is Levi himself.
All characters were developed up to a point that you could either like or dislike them, even such small parts like Tess were described that the reader knew what to think, feel or expect. But Levi? He was a big fat blank for me. (sorry but this will not go over with a small spoiler) I get that in the beginning he was supposed to be charming and all so his real intentions were hidden but after the âoutingâ I expected something more of him to surface.
And wow .. .I guess this was my first zombie novel (spoiler alert) â I always said I would never read one â¦.
But in total this is a truly enjoyable read except the fact of its age recommendation being Ages 12 and up ⦠I doubt that they can âgetâ those fine âreferencesâ about Stephen King and well I wonder if they even know the Twilight Zone (NO this has nothing to do with a Stephenie Meyer novel #laughing) â well but who am I to judge :- )
