Title : Have Me
Author : J. Kenner
Series : Stark Trilogy, #3.6
Rating : 3 Stars
Blurb : Our wedding was everything I dreamed of, and now the honeymoon is a living fantasy. To be Mrs. Damien Stark is the ultimate rush—to know that our claim to each other is real, our fierce passion sealing our bond. My kiss is forever his, his touch is forever mine. We both harbor deep scars from our pasts, and we’ve done everything we can to lay our ghosts to rest. But there are still dreams that haunt me, and people that threaten to tear us apart. Our shared ecstasy makes me feel alive, and I’ll do anything to keep Damien close. He is my future, my hope, my every want and need. And once you’ve tasted that kind of obsession, nothing can make you give it up.
Review : *Short review for a short book* Everybody who literally has fallen in love with a book series knows how it feels to desperately want to get more extracts. So after I finished the main books I was more than happy to see that there are more books including extra plots.
With “Take Me”, we get to know about Nikki’s and Damien’s wedding. A wedding which normally includes a honeymoon. In this case the honeymoon even got an own book. Something which I actually don’t really support. In about 100 pages we get to know what the protagonists do to escape reality….at least for some time. Time which is filled with lots and lots of cheesy vows combined with lots and lots of sex. Not that I am not happy about the life they finally can spend together . In my opinion it just would have been better to shorten everything and put it together into one book together with the actual wedding. So we would have one book a little bit longer than a novella, but this way the story probably would include more storylines which you can’t really find in this book. It’s actually a lovely sweet additional story which I indeed like as I really like Damien and Nikki as well. Especially the part in which Damien explains Nikki the origin of a honeymoon which was in my opinion the best scene in the whole novella. In the blurb, you already get to know how strong their love is and how deeply they still need to fight for each other as there are all these bad demons. In around 100 pages, this is what I would have expected. Not “only” the love scenes, but more action including the bad influences which exist, but just were “too quiet”. The proportion is not balnced enough which is the reason why you can’t really feel fear during those scenes.
So for everybody who loved the othere books, you really should read this novella as well. Just without high expectations as this is just a little addition to the things we already know about Nikki and Damien.
