Blurb :When Sarah Merson receives the opportunity of a lifetime to attend the most elite prep school in the country-Sanctuary Bay Academy-it seems almost too good to be true. But, after years of bouncing from foster home to foster home, escaping to its tranquil setting, nestled deep in Swans Island, couldn’t sound more appealing. Swiftly thrown into a world of privilege and secrets, Sarah quickly realizes finding herself noticed by class charmer, Nate, as well as her roommate’s dangerously attentive boyfriend, Ethan, are the least of her worries. When her roommate suddenly goes missing, she finds herself in a race against time, not only to find her, but to save herself and discover the dark truth behind Sanctuary Bay’s glossy reputation.
Review :I am really happy I came across “Sanctuary Bay” by Laura J. & Melinda Metz. Both authors are new to me and after reading this Book I will definitively keep an eye open for books of them. Their writing style is fresh and the reader is directly drawn into the plot, which made me devour this book within two days.
The Blurb at first made me think that this might be an venture into something paranormal but the hint that it was supposed to be a thriller intrigued me. I was surprised to find a really great story with well developed strong characters. This good character development made me enjoy the discussions between Sara and Ethan. But the supporting characters were equally good developed which is a nice change to many other novels.
There are many smaller and bigger mystery in this thriller which is intriguing as it is not only one big puzzle that needs to be solved. Besides the well developed characters and the fresh writing style those mysteries will be the third item that will draw the readers to this story.
This book will keep you guessing until the very end … you can not trust anything you thought you knew was true…can you even trust that the end of the book is really THE END ?I am convinced that this book will be a pleasant read for mystery lovers.
