But I’ll be damned if I screw up my first chance at something real…

Review :

This is a book I really wanted to read since our request got accepted on Netgalley. Why? Because the blurb sounds good! Emotional, something that must touch you as a reader. Now that I read the book I have to say that it really does, but not in the way I expected it to…. What I really like are the characters in general. It´s easy to connect with them as the combination of two point of views makes it possible to undertstand both sides of the story.

Wrapped in a really good writing-style, I really enjoyed reading.
Coming back to the touching part. One aspect I really want to mention is the length of the story which is in my opinion way too short. Because of its shortness, it feels like some of the things happening in the book don´t get fully explained. I often found myself asking if I maybe just overread something or if it´s just something the author set a different focus on. It seems like she concentrated on other aspects than I expected her to which are the reason for a different reading-experience…. This is why some scened felt too short while others felt too long. All in all this is a solid book by an author who definetly is talented and one I will definetly keep an eye on…
