When Kevin Johnson, 22, goes to Wallace, Idaho, days after his college graduation, he expects to find rest and relaxation as his family prepares his deceased grandfather’s house for sale. Then he discovers a hidden diary and a time portal that can take him to 1910, the year of Halley’s comet and the largest wildfire in U.S. history. Within hours, Kevin finds himself in the era of horse-drawn wagons, straw hats, and ankle-length dresses. Returning to the same time and place, he decides to travel again and again and make the portal his gateway to summer fun. The adventure takes a more serious turn, however, when the luckless-in-love science major falls for pretty English teacher Sarah Thompson and integrates himself in a community headed for tragedy. Filled with humor, romance, and heartbreak, THE FIRE, the sequel to THE JOURNEY, follows a conflicted soul through a life-changing journey as he makes his mark on a world he was never meant to see.

This book is a big andventure and I really enjoyed reading it.
I have never seeb such passionate science teacher. Kevin makes science sound like fun and very easy to understand.
He influecend everyone, but in a good way. Even the cute teacher Sarah is affected by him.
Sarah is a very cultured woman, one who knows what she is talking baout thile standing with both feet on the ground.
She an Kevin have indeed a lot of in common and it seems that they have a wonderful future, but there is the Fire.
I cried so hard at this scene. You think “okay in the end, the hero gets his Girl and they live happily ever after.” And then life hits you like a train.
Then there is this cute Girl Sadie. She really suffers from the ménag-à-trois. She is the one, who is the third one and never feels the love of the man she wants to be with. Even if she makes a tranformation from an unknown Girl to an educated woman, she never gets the man. But in the end you always get what you want. An awesome book that leaves you with more than one goosebump shower!
