Beth Yarnall’s sexy and emotional Recovered Innocence series continues as two broken souls discover that keeping their hands off each other is even harder than facing their demons. Beau: Six years. That’s how long I spent behind bars for a crime I didn’t commit—the murder of the woman I loved. Now I’m free, but life on the outside is a different kind of prison. I don’t know who I am or who I want to be. At least I have my sister, Cora. She never stopped believing in me. She even got me a job at the private investigation agency that cleared my name. And then Vera Swain walks into Nash Security and Investigations and kicks my world on its ass. Vera: There’s only one thing that would make me come out of hiding after two years on the run: finding my sister. I made the mistake of telling a monster about her, the same monster who beat me and broke me. Now I’m forced to confide in Beau Hollis of Nash Security and Investigations. He looks at me like he knows me—the real me. He sees too much, makes me feel too much. The pleasure he offers is exciting and addictive. But I can’t fall for him . . . because my love could get us both killed.

Review :

What can I say…People who have read my review about the first book of this series know how much I loved this book. I was so thankful for getting to know this unbelieveable talented author and after reading the second book of the series, I am even more thankful! In the second book of the Recovered Innocence series we get to know more about Beau´s life after prison which seems to be a total mess. His family fell apart, he has literally no place to stay and no job for which he has to wake up for every morning. Until Cora and her boss offer him to support them as a team member of the private inverstigation agency which helped to free him some months ago. This is when everything changes- when Vera changes everything…. I would love to write more about the content at this point, but to be honest it´s so difficult to write more without spoilering anything. Beau and Vera are both deeply developed characters that touch you from the very first second. Beth Yarnall again made it so easy to fall in love with her characters-because they not just feel real, but also because there is something abot them which makes it so easy to connect with them. Cora always will be my favourite character, because I never have met someone so passionate about something . But with Vera we get to know another strong character who had to and still has to deal with her past. I loved to see how all characters slowly blended into each other without making it too obvious. Seeing how they bond grew stronger was awesome to see as it´s not something I expected at first. If you think about the Vera you get to know in the beginning, you will understand why I actually didn´t really like her. She seems just cold-hearted and minding her own business. But the more you read the more you realize that there are reasons…. Combined with all the other topics mentioned in the story this book just presents this perfect mix every good story needs….. I know that there were some points at which I thought “I probably don´t agree with the decision the author made”, but you know what? In the end you realize that she decided right, because nobody knows her characters as good as she does. Thanks again for another awesome story which made me fall in love with your writing even more….
