This is Connor’s story.
Unstable.Unpredictable.
Consumed by perfect rage.
I was fighting who I’d become and what I’d done.
There was nothing I cared about except her.
She was mine.
But I’d forgotten her—my shutterbug.
And I lost her.
Until now.
I’d do anything to possess her again.
Anything to keep her safe.
Protect her against my biggest opponent.
The monster.
Me.
Review :
4 Lines – you might consider spoiler – but as you will not know their meaning without reading the book they won’t spoiler anything – and to me they mean a LOT
– 20 Questions (yes 20!)
– Goat interference
– Limitless Shutterbug
– Vampires fighting demons
I just read one of those books that is the reason for me doing all of these hours of working on a blog and reviewing books. Nashoda Rose is one of the few authors that does contemporary romance as well as paranormal in a way that left me no other choice then to rate each and every book that I read of her so far with 5 stars. To me as a reader it feels that she gives the books her everything – with every single story she tells.
One of those books that I am sure will stay with me for a long time just the word “Shutterbug” alone will remind me and bring the tears back to my eyes. I just finished reading “Perfect Rage” by Nashoda Rose a few minutes ago an my emotions are still all over the place. It is the 3rd book in the “Unyielding” series and while they are basically standing on their own – due to the complex bonds between the characters I can only advise to read them all and in the right order. And I promise you – EACH and EVERY one of these 3 books will be SO worth your time.
This author has a way of digging deep and when you think it can not go any further – she digs a little more. There are series that hit it off with the first book and then either loose pace or remain on a constant level. But not Ms. Rose – oh no – she is always raising the ante. And with each book so far I felt at first that there could not be coming any more in the next – only to realize during the reading that there will definitively be more. I am not sure if there are plans for a next in that series but if than I feel it will be Vic and it will be intense and I can hardly wait for it….and I also see a an “Irish story” on the outskirts.
Connors story was one I was really waiting for. And I mean badly waiting for because you could sense there was a lot to be told and knowing this author I knew she would twist and turn the story in a way that is breaking your heart – over and over again. When we met him first he was real asshole with a capital “A”.
That was actually the reason why already the first pages of this book had me fighting tears. I am not going to say too much around the story because you need to digest it raw – piece by piece – just be ready to get ripped apart. Connor swears a lot so I allow myself to also say …
Dear author – those fucking opening words at the beginning of each chapter fucking ripped my heart out. With each FUCKING turn of a page. You knew what was going to come with the next chapter you just did not know how it would look like. And when you thought it couldn’t get any worse – the header of the next chapter felt like someone stabbed a knife it that half ripped out heart …or in the next maybe even twisted the knife – simply just because that line could.
Such innocent lines but in the whole concept of the story they are heartbreaking and I really hope now that we will get to hear Vic’s story
