Escape With Me

Jealously was her sin
Lust was her savior
An ordinary woman did an extraordinary thing
Stepped out of her box, and tore down the confining wallsGuilt gave her purpose,
fueled her determination to find her missing sister.
A small-town girl must learn to survive in a tough, unforgiving city
In a world of dangerous lies, dark secrets and hungry shadows

She finds an ally in an NFL superstar
A man whose sexy vitality rivals his drive to win
He’s a force to be reckoned with, a god on and off the field
But his reckless passion and damaged soul
may prove to be an even greater danger

Her love for him may only destroy her
Because in the end, can she save him?

Escape with me was not the first book from this author that I read, previously I read Grayson and I loved it. So when the author approached me with her request to read this book it was easy to agree.

What I did not expect …. the PLOT … I did not read the official Blurb I only knew what the author told me and from that I would have never expected this story to be so full of suspense.  The author created a net of lies and deceive. She used some plot strings that were very cliche and combined them with unusal twists and turns. Some things I guessed – one or two I did not understand but in total the plot was intriguing.

As I did not expect this much suspense and I was almost overwhelmed in some moments. Because sometimes I felt that I left the path of romance and headed straight to something out of the pen of John Grisham … Therefore I struggeled a little with the developing relationship between the leading characters.

The setting is more than intriguing and the character development is interesting. Therefore I can really recommend this book especially for readers that crave suspense as author keeps you guessing on who is friend and who is foe until the last moments before its revealed.

Unfortunately I can not give this book a full 5 stars because compared with Grayson I did not feel the same emotional involvement with the characters. And I need to feel strong emotions to “allow” myself to give a 5 star rating. (meaning I have to be either crying ugly or laughing out loud).
