When physical touch is impossible, intimacy may become a powerful work of art or a devastating nightmare—but above all, it’s an act of trust.Struggling writer Kelly Blake has a secret life as a sex tutor—it pays the bills. Celebrated sculptor and recluse, Alexander ‘Lex’ Valentine, can’t stand to be touched. When he seeks out Kelly’s advice incognito for what he sees as his ‘self-abuse problem’, the results are too hot to handle.Kelly terminates their sessions due to her unprofessional behavior, and Lex takes a huge risk, revealing his identity to her at a gala exhibition, his first ever public appearance. After Kelly helps the severely haphephobic Lex escape the grope of reporters and paparazzi, rumors fly that the two are engaged, rumors encouraged by well-meaning friends and colleagues. The press feeding frenzy forces Kelly into hiding at Lex’s mansion, where he convinces her to be his private tutor. They discover quickly that touch is not the only road to sizzling, pulse-pounding intimacy. But intimacy must survive the secrets uncovered as their sessions become more and more personal.
The Tutor by K.D. Grace was a really unusual book and I loved its plot. It was well developed and well written. I am known to have “a thing” for difficult and flawed characters that have a handicap or scars (no matter if any of this is visible on the outside or not) .
And this book really hit all of those marks spot on. Reading the Blurb the story could have gone both “epic” ways – fail or success. When a story is aiming into such a special kind of genre/plot there are no “this book was ok” reviews possible. Its either full hit or miss and this book was a hit.
Putting together such an well developed plot must have been quite a feature. Given that the author even cam up with perfect believable reasons for everything. Well it might have gone overboard at one or two times but in the grand picture those did not matter.
The story covered them easily. I hope that many people will take interest in this unique plot. I know there are many out there that love such complicated flawed characters if you (that you are now reading these lines) are one of them – I think its pretty safe to say you will like this book.
Please enjoy this book – and I am pretty sure that I will pick up another book by this author if it has an for me interesting and unique plot like this.
