Gage There are a lot of perks that go along with being an up and coming rock star. I may not get the private jet, but I always fly first class. Gone are the days when I have to pursue a woman. They toss their panties at me and shove their numbers in the front of my jeans. I am living a charmed life. So, how did I end up stuck as a standby passenger, hoping to get a flight? Not only did I get stuck in coach, I ended up seated next to the girl next door. Bentley seems sweet and genuine, a far cry from the women I normally date. At least, that’s what I believed before finding out Bentley is a deceitful gold-digger. Bentley Gage Addison isn’t just some guy from my flight. He’s lead guitarist of Reckless Release—a freaking rock star! No matter how sweet they seem, I don’t date musicians, especially one who calls me a gold-digging whore the second time he sees me. Getting involved with Gage is not an option, no matter how hot he makes me. |
Rocking Standby by Cassandra Lawson really has the perfect title to describe the two leading characters . It was my first book by this author and I liked her writing style. The characters she created are another thing. Gage is a great person – actually almost to sweet and caring (leaving out his one slip when he went out all a**hole- but yeah I mean it was because he cared so much for his brother) … Bentley on the other hand is a super confusing character. She was super reluctant on one side and on the other almost alpha when she wanted something – like for example a one night stand. Do not get me wrong – just because I do not like Bentley so much—(she really is different that the average ) – it does not mean that the story is bad – quite the opposite actually – and it is totally OK for me that the female lead is that way If there was one thing that was bugging me in total – it was that issue with Gabe’s mum …. I felt odd that she was living the way she was given her situation – (being vague because of my little to no spoiler rule) I really liked the story in total – and I can absolutely see a series here with the secondary characters we meet. I am pretty sure I would pick up another book featuring the characters of this series – so go on enjoying this one … |
