Blurb : They call me 901.
I am a monster, a killer, a champion. In the blood pit I am a god. I have no name, no family, and no identity. When master says fight, I fight…until I am the only one left standing. I have one goal, to fight so well that I am freed. I don’t need friends, I don’t need women. They are weaknesses. I am strong.Until I see her. She is gorgeous and kind and off-limits to me. She was stolen as a child to be the worst type of slave and now master wants her. What he wants, he gets. With a smile, she melts my brutal heart. I have never wanted anything more.
Stolen by the Arziani Georgian crime mob as a child, 152 was raised and conditioned to be a Mona—the most subservient of the Arziani Blood Pit slaves.
Gorgeous and kind, she has been and under the imprisoning influence of the Type B drug and under the command of the Blood Pit Master’s sister, Mistress Arziani, for most of her life, until the Master calls her back home to Georgia.
He wants her under his total control, and Master always gets what he wants.
But when 152 is gifted to the Blood Pit’s fearsome champion death match fighter as a prize, 152 suddenly finds out that the men who appear most brutal, may just own the kindest hearts. And love may be found, even when living in hell.
Freedom, family, love, 152 will have to fight for what she wants and ultimately make an impossible choice.
Review : I really would love to know more about the developing process of Tillie Cole’s “Scarred Souls” series.
A few days ago I finished reading “Riot” the forth book in that series, which also might be the last – but who knows and actually in a series like this I do not care, because if I were the judge of that – that series would continue for a while.
The series consists of standalones but you will not grasp the full meaning if you read them out of their order so DON’T
I am not sure what to say about this book. It is one of those reads that could be explained but only in retelling the whole plot, which I refuse. This series is dark and actually has all the signs of a “mob” novel – even if they are more hidden behind the darkness.
Actually it is strange that I love these books the way I do – because I don’t “DO” mob or dark romances – but this? This is different – it is special and from the first book the characters stole a part of me, that has only now been returned to me with this final novel.
If you think that this blurb in any way might appeal to you than rest assured the writing style of this author will make it worth suffering with the characters and you will like what you find here.
Even in the absolute darkness and devastation this author created she still managed to leave a set of matches and you will not need more than one to spark hope
