Review :

“To be continued….” A sentence which drives every reader crazy, also in this case! I really liked this book, the first book of the “Consumed by Love” series. One thing I need to mention is that this book is actually short (compared with other books). So be aware that you won’t get a long story including a lot of information about background information.

It’s easy to get into the story as the characters are introduced in a way which makes it easy to actually imagine them. There are not many characters, but the combination of them makes it interesting to discover more characteristics. The pace actually changes the moment we get to know Coen whom you just have to describe with one word: hot! There is something about him you actually can’t put into words….He is just…Coen. In combination with Lexi, they really make a great “couple”(especially on the racing track).

I can’t really say whom I like more…Lexi who is this really strong character with a very interesting personality or Coen about whom we don’t know so much yet, but desperately want to know more about. A combination wrapped in a very good writing style that just screams: read me! I can’t wait to read the second book of this series!

Alexis and Luke from “His Lover to Protect” were a great pair. Their dialogues were simply great and the chemistry between them was tactile. This was my first novel by Katee Robert and I really like her style. The story flows at a great pace and the characters are well developed. The reader could really feel for Alexis’ wish to “get away” and Luke’s struggle between this “job” to watch over her and his developing feelings for her. This book was a really good and fast read that I would like to recommend.

I am not sure myself if this is a warning or a recommendation to other readers. I guess it depends on your point of view. If you intend to read “The Secret Fire” by C.J. Daugherty be aware that it is filled with tons of cliché stuff. Is that bad ? well depends – many readers look for just that – they read a certain book… love it and try to copy the feeling they experienced when reading that book to as many other novels as possible. I admit – I read the Blurb and when I picked up this book I had a certain set of ideas what those clichés should be and they all became true, so honestly I was not disappointed because it was exactly what I wanted to read at that point. IF on the other hand you are looking for something new or fresh – this might not be your novel – even if certain aspects of the story were indeed fresh. The majority was good and solid BUT familiar plot. Anyway >I< can recommend this story as a good and solid read. So read the Blurb and if you like similar plot’s I am sure you will like this one as well.

I have really big problems in writing a review on Delayed Penalty by Sophia Henry. Because no matter how I look at it – I cannot find an actual storyline.

I tried believing me and checking my other reviews you will see I always try to find a reason or a way. But this one was really an DNF … I came as far as 75 % then I skimmed through which is a rare occasion – so believe me I tried.

Explaining my problems would mean giving away some major spoilers so lets just give some facts.

“Insta” love is one thing – sometimes already hard to swallow and sell to the reader but honestly … “Insta” love based on a Haircut ? Because this is all I could find to explain this “love” our female lead felt.

And than there was her life – it felt like a lineup of facts not like she was actually living it. All this stuff she was supposed to be doing felt “fake” except one soccer match with her friends.

Oh and even further down the storyline “road” – I could not find anything that binds her to Mr. Crazy Hair – all she ever talks about is his looks – sorry that is so frustrating, because the male lead remains like a shadow in this book, except for some short lines and few funny dialogues.

The reader in me was totally unable to build up any kind of relationship with those two charactersI am very sorry – but this book was not for me
