My Favorite Souvenir

My Favorite Souvenir

 Penelope Ward, Vi Keeland
 April 27th 2020

My planned trip for two unexpectedly turned into a trip for one. Rather than let my breakup get me down, I packed my bags and decided a week at a luxury resort was just what I needed.
But one calamity after the next, and suddenly I was stuck without a hotel room, along with a few hundred other people.
It looked like my fancy vacation was about to turn into me sleeping on the hotel lobby floor.
Until I overheard a gorgeous man pretending to be someone he wasn’t in order to steal a reservation from a guest who hadn’t shown up yet.
When I realized there were two rooms, instead of calling him out, I pretended to be his sister. That’s how the story of “Milo and Maddie Hooker” began.
We were the Hookers.
My depressing trip quickly made a U-turn into an adventure.
My fake brother spent the next few days showing me around his hometown. When it was time to leave, neither of us really wanted to go yet.
So, instead of flying back to our respective homes, we ventured on a road trip.
At every stop, we’d pick up souvenirs.
But as hot as our chemistry was, we never crossed the line.
Milo knew I’d just come out of a tough relationship and didn’t want to mess with a vulnerable woman.
So instead, at the end of our trip, we made a pact to meet again in three months.
It was always my intention to meet him.
But when I got back home, reality hit in a big way.
And I worried I may have lost my handsome stranger forever.
Was there a place for him in my future?
Or had the memory of him just become my favorite souvenir?

“My Favorite Souvenir” by Penelope Ward and Vi Keeland was a great yet slightly different read than what I am used to from this author duo. I loved the dialogues and the banter and the characters were wonderful – and at times I was laughing really hard. For that alone, the 5 stars are save

Yet in comparison to all the other books of that duo it had a slightly heavy taste due to the sort of character triangle that developed. There was no cheating – no misunderstanding – only the way the story is told – I as a reader developed this feeling as IF there was something very heavy hanging over the plot. It sort of reminded me of the heavy feeling I had when reading Cocky Bastard even if the reasons were totally different.

But within the story, the reader will also find all the things that the fans love when reading books by these two authors.
And I do mean ALL the things – including the leash *lol*

I have no idea how these two authors share the parts – when writing the books but it always feels to me as if you could tell.
I would think if each took a character than the males are written by Vi Keeland and the females are coming from the pen of Penelope Ward – don’t ask me why as I could not explain.

Also I would love to be a fly on the wall when these two brainstorm and come up with their book ideas

As all previous books – I loved this one and recommend it to lovers of well-developed characters that value great banter and chemistry between the

But I have to be absolutely honest it is no my favorite book from them.leads.

If you have never read a book by this duo you could start with this one – but if you ask me for a recommendation where to start – I would say “at the beginning” even if they are not connected I would still recommend starting with “cocky bastard” and go from there.

I personally cannot wait to see what they come up with next.
