Title :  Rogue

Author : Katy Evans

Series : Real, #4

Rating :  4 Stars

Blurb : The fourth story in the new adult series that began with the New York Times bestseller Real, featuring Brooke’s best friend, Melanie, and the ROGUE she can’t resist. Greyson King…My boyfriend. My friend. My protector. He’s the reason I wake up every morning with a smile on my face, and the reason I fall asleep limp, worn out, and aching for his warm arms around me. When we make love, he says my name like it means something. Like I mean something.
He
Lied.
His name is Greyson King, but his alias is Zero.
There’s zero trace of him, he has zero past, and now I know that with him, I will have zero future. He may leave no trace of him anywhere, but his imprint is in me, in my very soul–and I hate that a mere look at him commands the beat of my heart. The temperature of my body. I’ve looked for love my entire life. I’ve waited for the butterflies, the rainbows… Instead I’m in a free fall of emotions and there’s no one to catch me but the one man I should be running away from. The one man I thought was my prince charming.
Except this prince charming went rogue.
Greyson will stop at nothing to make me be with him. He’ll let no one stand in our way, will allow no one to threaten me, and maybe this is what scares me most of all…
What will my rogue do to keep me?

Review : Dear Author,

I really loved the first 3 books – and – I really – really wanted to love this one in the same way. I was soooo looking forward to it and dived right in …

And the story developed just as I expected – just as I hoped … it was wonderful …

UNTIL

spoiler: <spoiler>the moment he took the bullets out of his gun – to proof he wouldn’t kill anybody that night</spoiler>

Its just – i expected something then – …. something BIG to happen to him … and I felt deflated like a balloon after that …

But OK – I thought maybe something else will happen towards the final …
don’t get me wrong – lots is happening but you know – the way the whole book developed you get a certain expectation about what is supposed to be happening and well THIS was not IT

spoiler: <spoiler>somehow – that “thing” about his mother … well it was clear (at least to me) it would happen this way … and this talk about boats … where is this coming from … It sounded somehow as if there was supposed to be something inside the book that was cut out at some point….and his “brother” seriously – ?? from everything that could have happend … THAT was the final?? – this felt so random and so I don’t know like a second choice for an ending</spoiler>

2/3 of the book was 5 stars or even more as you created a real great main character … a worthy successor for Remy – but what happend in the last 1/3 ??? Out of everything the whole violent surronding would have provided THIS was I don’t know…

I felt like I was robbed of something – something BIG ….
The final ….

So really the moment spoiler: <spoiler>when he took out the bullets</spoiler> was the moment when something was taken out of the story and killed it ….

Basically killed it down to 3 stars but I left the 4th because I so enjoyed the first 3 Books and somehow I feel I owe it to them ….
