The Good Samaritan

The Good Samaritan
R.C. Boldt

The biggest story of her life is the one he wants to hide.

I’m homeless by choice.
I have no intention of returning to my former life after what I’ve done.
This—living among the filth and discarded remnants of others—is what I deserve.
As atonement for my sins, I give back; I help those who cannot help themselves. But it’s always under the guise of anonymity.
Newspaper headlines throughout the city are clamoring to discover my identity. Including the beautiful woman who manages to see through my “armor.”
She has the capability to put my entire life at risk.

✔✖ My Review Check List ✖✔

AKA significant signs for a good book

Here ? The Good Samaritan by R.C. Boldt

  • (NOT WANTING TO PUT THE BOOK DOWN – WHICH INCLUDES CARRYING AN E-BOOK READER LITERALLY EVERYWHERE I GO, ALLNIGHT READING SESSIONS AND SNEAKING OUT OR IN PLACES INCLUDING TOILETS TO READ A FEW PAGES)

✔I might not have pulled an all-nighter with this one but still I had problems in putting it down – I wanted to get to the bottom of things. There was suspense that was pulling me back time and time again into the story

  • (TALKING WITH YOUR BOOK – NOMATTER WHERE YOU ARE AND WHO IS WATCHING YOU)

✔There wasn’t much reason to talk with this book it was more a loud thinking on the plot – the characters were more silent then others I read lately. But somehow that was the strength of this book.

  • (CRYING AND/OR LAUGHING – -OUT LOUD- NOMATTER WHERE YOU ARE)

✔Not much reason to laugh here if I am being honest. It is more on the thoughtful side of things but in this special case that really made no difference in the complete impression that book left with me

  • (THE INTENSE FEELING OF WANTING TO PUNCH OR HUG A VIRTUAL CHARACTER IN REAL LIFE)

✔There is a def. YES on the hugging part in this book. And there were lots of characters here that deserved one. And at least one I would have loved to punch – and not in the “punch some sense” way.

  • (REMEMBERING THE PLOT/ THE AUTHOR / THINGS AND/OR CONVERTING CONTENT TO YOUR REAL LIFE)

✔There is far too much “REAL” about this book to not remember it. It was my first book by this author and I directly checked on her older books. While most of them do not spark anything with me plot wise – there is one that I placed on my list and that is “Out of the Ashes (Out of #2)” – I will be reading that in near future and I will be sure to keep an eye on the next releases.

My Essence ?

This book holds a mirror to our faces – at least it did to me. In the way I look at people or even think about them. It is not easy to digest if you read it with that mirror in front of you but it’s a story that deserves to be told. The author wrapped it in a packing with suspense and well developed characters that simple make this book a great read.
