Title : 21 Years of Jane
Author : Yolanda Olson
Series : n/a
Release date : July 24th 2014
Rating : 2 Stars
Blurb : Paris, OH is a quiet town. Jane East thinks it’s the perfect place, since she’s been a loner most of her life. But when a new family moves near by and her parents insist she becomes friends with the new guy in town, things get turned upside down in ways she never thought possible.
Review : I read this book for free on my Kindle. But I am afraid to say that I guess it was a wrong choice for me. There have been several more than warm reviews about it. But I have a hard time with a book that wants to be as deep as “the fault in our stars” (as other reviewers compare it) but presents itself to its readers with an insta love that seems designed on som unexplained level by the parents. That on the other hand maybe do not want the leads to be together.
Anyway except the instalove – (which is a totally impossible – harsh I know – sorry – choice of entering a story of that supposed plot) there is also the fact that the two leads are supposed to be ya / na at an age over 20 years – yet I would feel more comfortable placing their interactions and dialogues with 16 year olds.
So I am sorry – even if I am the odd one out there and the book was for free – it was not for me …

Can one truly see…love?
Review : What a remarkable book – Basically I grabed this edition because the 3rd book that will be out soon catched my attention and when checking on the author I found this one. It was so well written that I now wonder what the next ones will be like.
River is a remarkable character that is so well written that he brought tears to my eyes. Yes he is hard at times but the reader always knows where his heart is at – nomatter what his mouth is saying.
Joss is great – not one on those fluffy heroines that are easy bend and broken … she does not give in nomatter what …
looking really forward to the next in that series

Title : A Lover’s Lament
Author : K.L. Grayson & B.T. Urruela
Series : n/a
Release date : October 6th 2015
Rating : 5 Stars
Blurb : In a matter of seconds my entire world changed, and it was in that moment that I stopped living and simply began to exist.
In my grief, I sent a letter to the first boy I ever loved. I hoped in writing it I’d find some peace from the nightmare I was living, some solace in my anger.
I didn’t expect him to write back. I wasn’t prepared for his words, and I certainly wasn’t ready for the impact this soldier would have on my life. A deep-rooted hate transformed into friendship, and then molded into a love like I’d never known before.
Sergeant Devin Ulysses Clay did what I couldn’t: he put the shattered pieces of my heart back together, restoring my faith in humanity and teaching me how to live again. But now that I’m whole, I have a decision to make.
Do I return to my life as I knew it and the fiancé I left behind, or do I walk away from it all for the only man to ever break my heart?
*** I’ve been living in hell, but you won’t hear me complain. These men depend on me, as I do them, and this brotherhood is the only family I’ve ever known.
The Army saved me from a callous mother and a life on the wrong side of the tracks that was quickly spiraling out of control. So unlike most of the men in my platoon, going home wasn’t something I longed for.
I was content overseas, spending my days defending this country that gave me my life back. Fighting became my new normal … until her.
A letter from Katie Devora—a letter that I almost didn’t open. Her words put a fire back inside of me that I didn’t know I’d lost.
She gave me hope during a time when I was fighting every day just to stay alive, and now it’s time I fight for her.
Review : WOW … I think 3 letters are almost enough to describe my thoughts about “A Lover’s Lament” by K.L. Grayson and B.T. Urruela
I was halfway through the novel when I told a friend about it and while praising it I mentioned how real “Devlin” felt to me while reading the book. This made me check up on the authors and now I am actually kind of … speechless? (Doesn’t happen to often to me and would be bad for my reviewing)
But yeah … please authors admit … K.L. Grayson YOU were definitely staring at a picture of B.T. Urruela while writing this novel. (And I kind of think it went the same for him) …
But the way Devlin is described really seriously meets the pictures on B.T. Urruela ’s Facebook page. Yeah (blushing) I admit – after I found out why this author has his knowledge I was intrigued and checked up on his own debut novel which sounds pretty interesting as well, and in that process I also liked his FB page and stuff – because THAT is what you do…
So I think this is a first for me to admit that a book character has actually received the face of its author in my mind…
Coming back to the book. I really loved that you could feel that both points of view were beautiful honest. Bordering brutal at times….
I do not want to go into the details of the plotline….
But truth be told not only the characters were having tears in their eyes at times.
The plot feels just so real that you really can confirm that karma is a bitch as well as a savior.
And you should never try to figure out the odds for certain things to happen.
I could say so much about the plot but I will not. Just that this rare occasion of a great plot – meeting some very special authors left the readers with one hell of a story.
And I hope I will get more books like this from those authors.

Title : Graham
Author : Natalie Decker
Series : Scandalous Boys #2
Release date : July 26th 2016
Rating : 3 Stars
Blurb : Graham Nichols’s main goal in life is to forget. Getting high, completely wasted, and running through a string of sexy blonds daily helps him achieve this task. But one night of partying lands him in a heap of trouble and sent back to the confinements of his hometown. Things can’t possibly get worse, right?
Sarah Morris can’t seem to run fast enough away from her past. She’s spent months trying to amend her ways, and is doing a pretty good job. She’s getting good grades, isn’t acting like a spoiled brat, and even works at the local grocery store. The last thing she needs is a distraction.Enter Graham Nichols, the one mistake Sarah can’t escape.
Review : Actually I am not sure anymore why I chose to read that book. I was unsure about the characters already judging from the blurb. And it turns out I was right doubting it.
While the plotline is not bad and the writing is ok, it is actually the character development that is my issue. I could totally not connect with the leading characters. They were supposed to be making amends – supposed to be better then they were, but for me acutally they never did.
And in the moments where the reader was supposed to feel a connection between the leads, for me there wasn’t any connection at all. They felt like ships passing at night.
I know that sounds horrible if I say it blantly like that but I am sorry it is my honest feeling.
