Blurb : Folks in town call him a monster—say he’s dangerous. But I know him simply as Elijah Hays, the quiet, gentle giant who works with the horses on my ranch. I can feel him watching me, that steady intense gaze making me crave things I don’t quite understand, burn in a way that frightens me. He’s always kept his distance…until that night.I remember him coming to my rescue, me following him into the barn, giving him his first taste of a woman, and his inexperienced yet barely reined touch turning me to ash.Now all I can think about is exposing the dark desire I see deep inside him—having him turn those dark desires on me. That low, gritty voice rasping orders in my ear. Those huge, rough hands holding me down when a storm blows in.I want his surrender. His control. I want to break him…and have him break me…

Review : Wow… Breaking Him by Sherilee Gray is really one hot book.

Well actually maybe a little TO HOT. Its not that I can not handle a good portion of HOT and STEAMY in a book (and before you tell me that I must be wrong. And that I have no idea what I am talking about – check my reading lists – I can handle a lot including dark romances, BDSM and other kinky stuff), but I need to have a certain structure in a book.

That includes a foreplay and real “stuff happening” – until it gets hot and steamy and somehow I was missing that in this book.

The relationship between the character developed at a pace that I would have expected in a short story with Insta love, which left no space for me as a reader to get connected to the characters.

You do not really get to know the characters which is a shame – since I would have liked to meet Elijah.

Also I am always expecting a little cliché in a book which can be a really good thing but somehow I personally feel that along the way of the hot sex the storyline became a victim of cliché.

Which actually is again a damn shame as this plot had real potential.

But at one point I was really expecting someone to light a house of fire for the committed sins (little exaggerated but sorry I was really thinking that).

I am truly sorry that I could not get engaged with the characters OR the plot development – I realize by the up to now given ratings that I must be the odd one out here but still I cannot help myself to admit that this book was not for me.
