Review : I just finished reading “Hooked” my first book by Brenda Rothert and I liked it a lot. This author really writes solid romance.

From beginning to end this book fulfills all needs that a reader has for a good romance novel.

 

With Miranda and Jake, we have to solid and well-written leading characters.

 

Miranda is a strong in-depended woman that has been hurt before and therefore is very careful with anything that is related to men. Also she has no time for a relationship, because with a constant lack of money she needs to be working two jobs to bring up enough money to live and finance her college classes.

 

Jake was hurt too but his coping is different from Mirandas. His real character is now hidden behind a big mouth, his attitude as womanizer (which brings him into even deeper problems this time around). His constant need for rituals and complaining brings him on confrontation course with Miranda.

 

Instead of falling to his feet, like all the others, she is giving him a piece of her mind – even though she really needs her job.

 

Both are intrigued with what they see in each other. However, Jake is still in trouble with his last date and Miranda would never start anything with a person like him.

 

Still every time they meet chips of their armor fly – some they notice – some they don’t –

They could be friends but a relationship is out of the question – or is it?
