More Than Words
Mia Sheridan
June 12th 2018

No one lays open the heart and soul quite like New York Times bestselling author Mia Sheridan.

The moment she met Callen Hayes, eleven-year-old Jessica Creswell knew he was a broken prince. Her prince. They became each other’s refuge, a safe and magical place far from their troubled lives. Until the day Callen kissed herJessica’s first real, dreamy kiss—and then disappeared from her life without a word.

Years later, everyone knows who Callen Hayes is. Famous composer. Infamous bad boy. What no one knows is that Callen’s music is now locked deep inside, trapped behind his own inner demons. It’s only when he withdraws to France to drink his way through the darkness that Callen stumbles into the one person who makes the music return. Jessica. His Jessie. And she still tastes of fresh, sweet innocence . . . even as she sets his blood on fire.

But they don’t belong in each other’s worlds anymore. There are too many mistakes. Too many secrets. Too many lies. All they have is that instinctive longing, that need—and something that looks dangerously like love.

I read Archers Voice and titled it “the most beautiful first kiss ever”

I read Leo and several others are also still on my reading list – so how could I not jump at the chance to review the latest book from Mia Sheridan – when already the first glimpse of the Blurb promised so much.

“More Than Words” is just like its title – this book is more than its words.  And just like other books before from this author it left me speechless. So I am honestly sitting here staring at my blank review sheet and wonder how much I should tell other readers about this book.

I feel every tiny bit would be too much.

Let me at least tell you this. Like in previous books the author has a magical way to bring the leading characters to your heart. They sneak in before you even realize it happened.

Callen and Jessica are beautifully written  – inside and out

In addition to these beautiful leads the author not only creates well developed secondary characters, but also a wonderful setting in which the story takes place.

I am well acquainted with the setting that the author choose as I have good friends in that country / area that I visit every year. Especially in the city that is named after the person that is essential in this book (cryptic much – sorry – spoilers) … So I found myself often sitting on a bench right in the middle of that city staring at a statue of that person and thinking about reasons and choices.  I was about to attach some of my own pictures of places and that statue to this review but then I thought about spoilers and refrained from it.

Maybe it is due to my knowledge of this place but I really felt the setting. This area can be magical I have seen places there that seem to be timeless , they will capture the visitors and you will find them in your dreams.  I KNEW what the author described about the characters feelings when they were there – so it felt real– including the tiniest rain drop  – so very real.

I hope that other readers will fall in love with these characters, their story and the stetting as much as I did.
