|There is no shame in pleasure. And no love in business.
I have a blind date tonight, and I know with 100% certainty that I’m getting lucky. There shouldn’t be any surprises, not for one as jaded as me, but when I walk into the penthouse suite of L’Etoile, everything changes.
1) For one thing, Bea is heartstoppingly gorgeous. Pale green eyes and endless freckles. Curves I want to spend all night exploring, as if her body was made for me.
2) Her innocence makes me want to use my entire inventory of bedroom tricks on her and then invent a few more.
3) Except that… she’s a virgin.
I can initiate her into the world of desire without letting her get attached, can’t I? A few hours of tutoring, and at the end of the night a small fortune will be deposited into my bank account.
Yes, you read that right. There are many words for what I do. After all, mine is the oldest profession. I’m an escort, which means this date is nothing more than a mutually enjoyable transaction.
But once I realize one night with her won’t be enough, I’m the one who’s screwed.
|Bea loves music and if she plays a piece she owns it first … she devours it – makes it her own and then releases it again into the world as something different.
Sky Warren – the author of “Escort” which is Beas’ story is not that much different in this regard. I am not sure how many stories are out there about male Escorts – there must be thousands …. and I think its fair to say I read several dozens of them.
But it needs an author like Ms. Warren to devour the concept like a favorite meal – make it her own and release it again as something different. You can leave your ideas about how this book should feel together with your coat at the door when you enter SkyWarren-land.
Her male lead Hugo is a walking and talking contradiction, the things he does, says and thinks are always in conflict with each other and you have to love him for that alone.
I am not sure what it is with the writing style of this author but her books always have an aura of mystery and darkness not matter what subject the tend to. Leave it up to her to spin a darkly tinted tale that feels like a fairytale princess encountered a tainted hero that was more a beast than a prince had it not been for his looks and sensuality.
Sky Warren is one of these authors where I have to be very selective of what to choose when reading her books. Because I am pretty sure she has the ability to break a reader and leave him in a state of the worst possible book hangover. The one where the reader needs days if not weeks and dozens of half read books to find anything remotely suitable to read next.
