Kidnapped. Taken to a private island.

I never thought this could happen to me. I never imagined one chance meeting on the eve of my eighteenth birthday could change my life so completely.

Now I belong to him. To Julian. To a man who is as ruthless as he is beautiful – a man whose touch makes me burn. A man whose tenderness I find more devastating than his cruelty.

My captor is an enigma. I don’t know who he is or why he took me. There is a darkness inside him – a darkness that scares me even as it draws me in.

My name is Nora Leston, and this is my story.

WARNING: This is NOT a traditional romance. It contains disturbing subject matter, including themes of questionable consent and Stockholm Syndrome, as well as graphic sexual content. This is a work of fiction intended for a mature, 18+ audience only. The author neither endorses nor condones this type of behavior.

If you follow my reviews I have been on the fluffy train of late and I got bored. I need more mind fuckery and darkness in my tastes in books.

Deep, deep down

In the end how can I not give it 5 “The devil does indeed wear a beautiful mask” Stars. Right ladies?

Nora Leston is in all sense of the word normal. She is about to graduate and go to a community college, be asked out by the most popular guy at school until she hits a club with her friend and sees a handsome stranger, staring at her with an intensity that caused fear as well as lust.

Julian is an enigma and if you look under sociopath, Julian’s name will probably turn up there among other sociopath’s as well. I thought that I wouldn’t like him but I did. I would have loved to experience Julian’s POV but that we get that in the second series so that is good.  Which I can’t wait to read.

Julian has urges and needs that he needs to cater to. Nora reminds him of a girl he used to know and well as sociopaths don’t say “Hey there pet, fancy going out to dinner with me?” The next best thing is to obviously kidnap the girl and take her to your private island and get to know her and train her to be the one that you need. In just more than lust and desire but an obsession.

At the end of the day

I was on the same roller coaster of a ride with Nora and her feelings. The cowardice, how her behaviour didn’t make sense and that in the end she accepted her fate. Did she give in too quickly? I can’t be the one to judge that.  How she tried to escape, her sorrow and in the end when she realises that she has feelings for Julian.

It’s not the sweet, tender kind of love I always dreamed of, but its love. Dark, twisted, and obsessive, it’s both a compulsion and an addiction.

Julian does things to Nora that she never thought possible.

“He turns me inside out, take me apart, and puts me back together—all in the span of one night.”

This is not my first book from by this author but the one I did read, might I add a long, long time ago I really didn’t like at all. I was unwillingly to try another book by this author due to my previous experience. But Twist Me, is mindfuckery at its best. I wasn’t impressed at the beginning but it improved all the more and I was fascinated by the characters of the book.  There were some twists and turns that I wouldn’t have guessed.
