A (seriously) never-ending supply of adult romance featuring disabled and oh-so-sexy heroes.
Warning: May contain very disturbing situations, dubious consent, and graphic violence. Or fluffy romance. Who knows? This is a collection of contemporary romance, military romance, mobster romance, and dark romance. Includes scenes and short stories with strong language, mature content, drama, and angst. Plus a few giggles. |
Let me tell you a secret
I hate short stories
And now let me tell you a mystery I love this book …
Maybe its because the stories are not really stories – they are more glimpses on what could be. They are full of possibilities They feel like a catalog i could select one And tell the author to write me the rest
So please be aware of the following : this is not an anthology or not really even a collection of short stories. I personally would encourage you to read Hart Broken (Cale & Mickey #1) by Annie Arcane first before touching this book. You need to get a feeling for the writing style of this author and her humor as it is quite unique.
Also you would not be able to understand some of the stuff – not only because you do not know Cale but also you would not get the way its meant. At least that’s what I think – but hey I could be totally wrong – who knows – I knew Cale before I read this book so I was laughing my a** off.
I just wrote book – but I was hesitating … really it is not a book. I tried to describe my feeling earlier here when I said it is like a catalogue. But it is more in a way. I puts a finger right in the middle where it hurts in one story. And in the next it gives the reader a wink. Then it raises an eyebrow . And two seconds later you are laughing… when 5 seconds after that you feel like chocking, trying to stifle a tear or two.
The sequences you will read will seriously only last a page or two but they will be enough to find yourself nooding at certain situations and some will make your heart skip a beat. For me – personally – they made me write the author and tell her that I want each and every story in there written and honestly Ms. Arcane … I WAS SERIOUS ABOUT THAT … |
