I didn’t know what the universe had in store for me, but I definitely didn’t expect Jameson Burke. People think he has more secrets than I do, but he showed me his true self – his smile, his thoughtfulness, his love.
Sophia Reid’s shy smile brought my soul out of hiding. Through her, I learned what starting over really means.
But if I give in to this love, I’ll put us both in danger.
For a short time, I was whole again, but what they say is right. The old me is dead, and the new one will never know love again.

Jeri’s Book Attic – “It is such an amazing feeling to discover a new author you like and it is even more amazing if you recognize it’s a debut for the author too.”

I guess when I look at the calendar it is safe to say that I fixed my “2017-YA-Debut-Author”
It is such an amazing feeling to discover a new author you like and it is even more amazing if you recognize it’s a debut for the author too.
You like a well written YA romance ? One that is not cliché from top to bottom ? One were you turn the pages and you have no idea until the very end what exactly is going to happen?
Well you might consider giving “Nowhere Girl” from Fiona Keane a try.
One warning though – it is a series of 3 books but the author promised me that the books are all completed and going through editing. The release of the complete series should be finished until end of Feb. 2018. You wonder why I mention this ? Well if you follow my reviews you know that I have an issue with series especially those that have a huge time gap between their releases. My problem is that I dislike losing the connection to the characters ones I have one. And the more time in-between the books the more I loose my feelings for the story. So me trusting the author on this one really means something believe me.
So I wonder if I have to mention that this book ends on a note that one might consider a cliffhanger or not ? but well yeah … nope – not going there (ha I bet you thought I would tell more right?)
Ok so about the writing – well I really love this authors writing – her characters are deep and fully developed with enough background to connect to them. And little enough is known about them to keep the mystery intact this book so desperately needs. Which in itself is an enigma as it should not work – but somehow it does. I am not going to repeat the blurb here but I can tell you what you read there is exactly what you get.
And it is the mystery that pulls the reader through the pages … turning reading turning reading until you suddenly realize that … nope – again not going there….
The characters are great. The secondary ones are just present enough to interfere where they are supposed to and the reader wonders what there deeper purpose is because some of them definitely have an agenda – or not?
I love our male lead so Ms Keane did good – and wow surprise surprise I even like the female lead. Their struggles are real and I often found myself agreeing to their thoughts which made it a great read for that rainy Sunday we had.
I did not want to put it down and actually managed to finish it in two sessions – now two days later I am still thinking about some of the things I read and I am trying to figure things out.
So all of this is prove enough for me that this book is good.
Just now I am rating this book as a single book as I can not judge what the future will bring with the other two books to complete the story but I have high hopes that the story will continue as promised – so there is hope that I will not have to reconsider my rating here.
So for now my rating is 5 stars and I honestly love the fact that I am the first here to place my review because there are no spoilers here and if you want to know anything about the story you will have to read it. And I dare you to… you will not regret it if you love YA romances.
