Brooklynn Hawk is an enigma. Highly sought after for her incredible voice, her talent shines bright in the studio. But a dark past and a secret she holds close to her heart keep her from permanently stepping into the limelight. Until her favorite band offers her the chance to chase her dreams. As the lead singer for rock sensation, Stone Butterfly, Levi Matthews is wary of bringing in new talent. But, he has heard just how amazing Brooklynn is and when the need for another singer arises, he’s confident that she is the perfect addition. However, he doesn’t count on laying his heart at her feet. But the world of music can be as dangerous as it is thrilling. Joining Stone Butterfly on tour was hard enough for Brooklyn, but when she finally succumbs to Levi’s charms, the rock ‘n’ roll life turns deadly. Will Levi and Brooklynn keep their voices and their hearts entwined? Or will the music prove too hard to survive?

**Can be read as a standalone**

Another Postcard by Elle Christensen is not only the first book in the new series called “Stone Butterfly Rockstars” but also the first book I read from this author.

In its Blurb Brooklynn the female lead is described as an enigma. And I would like to use that word not only for this character but basically for the complete book. It was not a bad story or badly written – no not at all but I think (or at least it felt to me like that) as if the author was undecided if she wanted to create a Rockstar romance or a romantic suspense novel.

And unfortunately the connection between those two genres did not go smoothly in this story.

While there was a lot going on some parts of the story where handled a little to fast and felt “constructed”. Unfortunately especially the love story between the leads was one of these plot strings that felt to instant which is not my thing at all. And the other one was the “plot twist” that I will not mention due to spoilers.

I can not help myself but it felt like “plastic” when I would have expected something more solid. In total this is an interesting story that is well developed its just that I could not really connect to certain parts of it and that is a very important issue for me.

I am still giving this story a full 4 stars but they are more like 3.5. – One star deducted is because of the missing connection and feelings for me and the 0.5 is because the plot twist felt to constructed and forced.

But still I am pretty sure that there will be many people loving this story because it is simply more unique than others of this genre and I am looking forward to what the author will come up with next.
