Surprisingly enough I really enjoyed this book.
We have the rich man whore Hero. Not only is he a man whore but a cold hearted, caustic bastard who has no thought for anyone else or their life.
I must say I thought I’d hate him but I didn’t. The author brings his arse-holish ways over as somewhat endearing. Crazy I know but true.
Richard VanRyan is one of the biggest dicks in the city. He’s been passed up for a promotion AGAIN so it is time to get a little payback.
In no way, whatsoever was this going to turn out well but he has a plan for everything and for some reason the heroine goes along with it.
We also have the gentle soul virgin heroine. Yes, a typically trope nowadays. But she does have a backbone and comes into her own and isn’t a doormat heroine.
I enjoyed the story from how it went from loathing, to tolerating from tolerating to allies and in the end to lovers. It is cheesy as hell but somehow it worked. Sometimes there is a need for some cheese.
The author kept it upbeat and knew when to activate the waterworks. Worth a read IMO.
