“The Girl He Needs” by Kristi Rose is the first book that I read by this author and it will definitively not be my last.
Reading the first pages – there might be readers assuming that Josie is just a drifter that leaves whenever things get to “intense” but the more you follow the course of the book the more you learn about her.
And (at least that was true for me) the more I understood her. While the whole book is actually the story of Brinn’s and Josie’s developing relationship – for me it also turned out to be an intense story on her brother.
I will not spoiler on any subject but you are given a fair warning that facts will not be sugarcoated and it will get raw.
And there is something very very true about the thought that you might be able to choose friends the way you like them but family is a given. No matter if that is a good or a bad thing.
The book is just short of a 5 star read for me – just because of the fact that I did not have any intense outbursts – sorry but those are my rules (neither tears nor laughter = no 5 stars) – otherwise it would have been a solid 5 star.
The author creates a fully developed storyline with deep characters and I can recommend this book from the bottom of my reading heart. Looking forward to the next book by this author.
