Reader letter

Watching sex tapes at the office is just
part of PR professional Vivian Blake’s job, especially when she has to clean up
a celebrity’s image. Except that her newest client isn’t quite that easy.
Racecar driver Jarod Cage is beyond hot, and his onscreen “performance” is
already compromising Viv’s cool professionalism.
While Jarod hasn’t exactly been discreet
about his personal life, he never thought his reputation could cost him both
his sponsor and his racing career. Now he has to put his future in the hands of
a tiny, pixie-like publicist. Which is becoming a problem, because the heat
between them is about to redline. But when you go this hard and fast, putting
on the brakes is the most dangerous thing you can do…

Jeri’s Book Attic is happy that Clare took some time to answer some questions for us

Author Interview at Jeri’s Book Attic.
Thanks for having me today, Jeri! So excited to
be here, now let’s tackle your questions!

1) What is the first book you read that comes
to mind? Why is it so important to you?
Oh boy, I have to think on this one. I loved
Pippi Longstocking books. She had crazy clothes and was fun as hell. I’ve
always loved books about girl power 🙂
2) How much of you and/or your surroundings is
a part of your stories? Is the influence based on a conscious decision, or do
you periodically recognize yourself in one of your characters and it wasn’t
I think there are pieces that just come through
that you don’t even notice. But mostly, my characters are their own people and
not based on anyone I know. And the same for the plot. Though with Caught, I did tap into my own experience
as a public relations rep. Still, I NEVER had a client like Jarod Cage…bummer.
3) What genre is the most intimidating when you
think about writing in it? Explain why!
Erotic Romance can be intimidating. Whoa, can
it. For me, it can be very raw and vulnerable and it’s tough to go there
sometimes. But, I really love it!

4) In your opinion, what is the most important
feature a book needs to have?
Interesting and unique characters. I often hear
of people complaining about books where the characters don’t do what they think
they should, or they are not nice enough, or not a reliable narrator. To me,
these are my favorite characters. I don’t need to like them, I just need to be
interested in them J
I also loved to be surprised!
5) If you had the chance to influence the
questions people ask you in interviews, what question is the most annoying and
you would love to never hear again? What question would you really like to
answer that you have not been asked yet, and what is your answer to that
I don’t like being asked about my favorite
books – just because it’s too difficult to answer. I have soooo many books I
love. Plus, I forget a lot of them, and then feel bad when I remember them
after an interview is over!
Gosh, I can’t think of a question I’d like to
answer. I’d rather just talk to people about books in general—a conversation
rather than an interview.

6) Name three characteristics of your writing
style that are important yet different from other authors.
*Structure – I always have something funky
going on. Maybe it’s different points of view, or the plot is anchored by some
rules, or part of the story is in a letter or interview, or it’s told
*Smart, strong women—My heroines are always
badass, even if they don’t know it.
*All over the map with the feels—you’ll get
humor, heart, and heat in all of my stories!
7) Which of your characters seems to be the
most independent, and has taken on a life of their own?
*Stevie Sinclair from DIRTY LITTLE LIES—my
family even refers to Stevie as if she’s a real person 🙂
8) What do you want tell your readers at the
end of this interview?
*Thanks so much for reading my books!! And…talk
to me! I love emails and notes on Twitter and Facebook. Oh, and I have a ton
more going on in 2015, so stay close!!
Jeri’s Review
With Caught, you get a steamy, emotinal and very refreshing book which lets you feel like sitting in a racing car yourself.
I loved the pace of this story as there was never a moment during which I was bored.
The combination of different topics including the racing, the really hot alpha and the relationship which to be honest wouldn’t exist if Miss Charming wouldn’t be so heated as he definetly is , is something which works out pretty well.
Moreover the writing style is very good as it entertains the reader from time to time but still isn’t overfilled with senseless or unuseful information.
In my opinion, the most important part of the story is the way both protagonists Jared and Viv interact. Directly after turning the first page of this book you can not only feel how much the author put into the background of the whole story- it’s also awesome to see how much both of the characters seem to have developed a very interesting life which can’t be described with other words than fiery.
Jarod is my favourite as there is something about him which directly attracts me. He feels real and raw ,but at the same time there is also some vulnerability about him of which you can get a glimpse in so many different scenes.
In contrast, the personality of Vivian felt totally different. Of  course this is the way she is. But at some points I just wished that there would be a little bit more about her which for sure can be find deep down. This is the reason I rated this book wih 4 instead of 5 Stars as in my opinion the protagonists are the most important part of a novel as they are the ones which make us feel the story.
I can say for sure that this is a book I am going to recommend!
