“Sometimes I wonder…” Erin said, pausing. She bit her lower lip, and Oliver got a sense she regretted what she’d just started to say. “Never mind.”
“You wonder what?” he pressed.
“I wonder if you and I had never met…if you and Gavin would have…”
Oliver sighed. There were no secrets between him and Erin. He’d fallen for her just as quickly as her roommate Jordan fell for her flavors of the month. Layla had introduced him to her cousin shortly after Erin had landed a nursing job at Johns Hopkins in the E.R., making the move from Philly to Baltimore. Oliver had taken one look at the curvy brunette with chocolate-brown eyes and known he’d met his soulmate.
Well…one of them.
Erin’s hot-blooded Italian mother had met and fallen madly in love with her hard-working and hard-playing Irish husband, and the result had been Erin Cafferty. Like him, she laughed loudly and often, spoke her mind, rarely flashed her fiery temper—but when she did, watch out—and once they’d committed to this relationship, she’d been all in, holding back nothing.
As such, she knew all about Ollie’s wild dreams, his desire to find a relationship just like that of his parents. Erin was as open-minded and adventurous as they came. Unlike the Moretti brothers, Erin had been quick to accept Layla’s relationship with both Finn and Miguel, confiding to him early on that she’d thought it was “very cool and totally hot,” and how she couldn’t imagine anything better than finding true love with not just one person but two. She’d told him she would be open to that kind of relationship if it was what he truly wanted.
If Oliver hadn’t already fallen for her before, that would have sealed the deal for him.
Erin had also heard all of Oliver’s “past lovers” stories, just as he’d heard hers, so she knew about his one night with Gavin and how it had ended. Why it had ended. Oliver had tried to convince her that he’d since come to realize that dream of a threesome relationship was just that…a dream.
But every now and then, like tonight, he’d slip up and reveal more than he should, and once more, she’d be left to wonder if she truly was enough. He hated doing that to her.
He’d let his dreams keep him and Gavin apart, so how could he expect her to believe the same wouldn’t hold true in their relationship? While he’d sworn to her that wouldn’t happen, it was clear she didn’t believe him.
“You know Gavin and I…” He started to say hooked up, but that felt too impersonal, especially given his feelings for Gavin.
“Slept together,” Erin finished when he stumbled. “I know that, but—”
“But nothing. It was just one time and we both knew afterwards that…it wasn’t enough. That something was missing.”
The truth was his night with Gavin had been fucking amazing. The only other lover he’d ever taken to bed who’d rocked his world like that was Erin. But Oliver had fucked it up when he’d misread the entire thing with Gavin, planning a future out loud for the two of them and some unknown woman.
“Nothing was missing in Gavin’s mind,” Erin softly reminded him.
He knew that. But it didn’t change the facts. “It wouldn’t work, Erin. I want a wife and babies.”
“And a husband. Gavin.”
Oliver hadn’t planned to add anything else to that list because he’d made that mistake once before. Lost someone he loved because his dreams were too big, too wild. But Erin wouldn’t let him lie. Not even to himself. Because she was right.
He didn’t just want a wife.
He wanted it all.

“Now kiss.” Walt waved his hands at them.
Annalise turned to look at Walt, utterly stunned. “I’m sorry…what?”
“You love one another. Kiss.”
Right.
Kiss Jakob.
Which she’d only been fantasizing about for months or maybe the better part of a year.
Annalise stood and faced Jakob. She could do this. Just walk over there and kiss him.
She didn’t move. Couldn’t. Jakob was right there, and a wild mix of embarrassment and uncertainty rooted her in place. She’d spent so long not kissing him that this felt awkward.
Jakob crossed his arms. Uncrossed them. Put his hands in his pockets. All the body language that said a person was unsure or uncomfortable.
They waited. The three of them. Standing there. Self-conscious and silent.
Walt sighed noisily, but he was smiling. “You two are lucky I’m here.” He reached out and took Annalise’s wrist, then pulled her over to where Jakob was standing.
Walt didn’t let go of her as he reached out with his free hand, cupped the back of Jakob’s head, and kissed him.
A hot, sharp stab of desire lanced through her. She loved the way Jakob’s eyes widened for just a moment, the shock and surprise so unlike his normal expressionless mask. Then he closed his eyes and wrapped one arm around Walt’s waist, holding him close.
Walt pulled back, a bit breathless. “Damn, man, you can kiss.” Then Walt glanced at Annalise. “Come here.”
The husky command fired her libido even more.
Walt pulled her in, without really backing away from Jakob. Her shoulder brushed against Jakob’s chest, but she kept her focus on Walt.
For the second time, he bent to kiss her. There was no chaste start to this kiss. His tongue slid between her lips, demanded entry to her mouth, and then swept inside. Walt was holding her wrist, but another arm, Jakob’s, came around her waist. Jakob tugged her forward several tiny steps, sliding out of the way as he did.
For a moment, she panicked as Jakob pressed her against Walt’s chest, allowing the other man to deepen the kiss even more. Was Jakob giving her to Walt? Saying he loved her but didn’t want to kiss her?
Then Jakob slid behind her, his chest at her back, and his undeniably erect cock against the top of her ass. Hands curled around her hips, sliding up her sides until he cupped her ribs, fingertips on the sides of her breasts.
Annalise broke the kiss with Walt, twisting to try to look at Jakob.
“No,” Jacob said, and she felt the word rumble through his chest and into her back. “Kiss him.”
“I thought you didn’t want to watch?” She sounded breathy, and the men reacted to that, both of them inhaling heavily.
“I’m not just going to watch,”

“If I want to hold my girlfriend’s hand, I will.”
She laughed and rolled her eyes. “As far as unbelievable lies go, that one might just take the cake. You know it won’t take Nick long to figure out everything you just said is a pile of shit.”
“What did he mean when he said he could give you what you want in bed?”
Adele wasn’t the type of woman to embarrass easily, so she could probably count on one hand the number of times she’d blushed. Porter’s question sent a flood of heat to her cheeks, and she didn’t need a mirror to know her face was probably blood red. “None of your business.”
Porter gave her a shit-eating grin. “Now that I’m your boyfriend, I think it would be helpful to know exactly what it is I’m supposed to be researching.”
He was having way too much fun at her expense. She tugged her hand away, putting enough force behind the pull that Porter had no choice but to release his grip.
“Very funny. You don’t need to research a thing.”
She meant he didn’t need to research because they weren’t dating, but it was clear that wasn’t how Porter had interpreted her comment, when he wiggled his brows suggestively. “Good to know I’ve already got the appropriate skill set.”
“You know what I mean,” she attempted to clarify.
Not that it helped.
Porter’s tone was deeper and too knowing when he said, “Yeah. I think I do.”
She decided to take a big step away, unable to talk to Porter about anything even remotely sexual, lest she be tempted to climb over the counter, crawl onto his lap, and beg him for one of his infamous one-night stands. Common sense be damned.
“I don’t want you to think I don’t appreciate your help. Honestly. I’m done in tonight, and the idea of rehashing all the reasons why Nick and I weren’t working out was too exhausting to consider. I’m glad for the reprieve, though I suspect it will be brief when he realizes I’m still very single.”
Porter’s grin faded, replaced by a scowl she couldn’t understand. “You’re not single.”
Adele frowned. “I’m pretty sure I am.”
“Nope. I meant what I said, Addie. You’re my girlfriend.”
She laughed, enjoying the joke. Porter loved to tease her, and he was really milking this one for all it was worth. “Oh yeah?” she said, playing along. “Since when?”
He didn’t even crack a smile, his tone way too serious to be teasing. “Since that first dance last spring.”
Adele gasped, shocked, waiting for him to get to the punch line.
He simply held her gaze, daring her to contradict him again.
“Porter,” she said.
“Take a second, darlin’, and let it sink in.”
Adele was pretty sure she looked like a deer in the highlights, but his low baritone voice and the conviction behind his words had her doing exactly what he told her to despite her better judgment.
She was letting it sink in.

“Truth or Dare?”
Scarlet and Tate both looked at Roman, who regarded them levelly, as if it were totally normal for an NSA budget analyst to propose that they play a sleepover game.
Scarlet realized she was tapping her foot again in time with the song. Part of her feared the earworm would become permanent, something she’d hear in her head forever. She sat up in the tub. “You know what? I’m in. Why not? This whole thing is already ridiculous.”
“Dares might be a little hard, given our limited space,” Roman said.
But Scarlet had an idea. A very, very dangerous idea.
Maybe it was because her most vivid memory of Truth or Dare had been the time she played it at her friend Veronica’s house, on a night when Veronica’s twin brother, Viktor, was also having a sleepover, making it a coed sleepover.
“Tate, I dare you to take off your shirt,” Scarlet said.
Both men looked at her, and the looks they gave her were intense…the looks predators gave their prey.
“You’re supposed to ask him ‘truth or dare’,” Roman said slowly.
Scarlet let out a noisy sigh. “Tate, truth or dare?”
“Truth,” he said with a smirk.
She rolled her eyes. “Okay, fine…have you been practicing your ménage sex?”
Tate ran his tongue over his teeth. “I’ve had a few threesomes.”
“Two girls? Two boys? One of each?”
“Ah ah ah, you already asked your question.” Tate waggled his finger at her.
“Oh, we’re going to play it like that, are we?” She shook her head in mock disgust, but her body was warm with burgeoning arousal, and it looked like, seemed like, the guys were also ready to play the game the sexy way.
Not that she’d really doubted that. There had been this underlying sexual attraction between the three of them since the first day they met at headquarters.
“Roman,” Tate said. “Truth or dare?”
“Dare.”
Tate looked back and forth between her and Roman. “I dare you to kiss Scarlet.”
Yes! Yes yes yes.
Scarlet sat up, even as Roman slid off the side of the tub, kneeling on the floor and facing her, his hands braced as he leaned over.
Just before she closed her eyes, Scarlet’s gaze met Tate’s, and in that shared moment, she knew that this would only be the first kiss of the night.
Roman continued to be a surprise, one constant stream of contradictions. He never acted the way she expected, and this kiss was just one more example of that.
He was a fairly staid, serious man, but in this moment, he kissed her with a roughness, a passion, that quite simply took her breath away.
One minute his hands were braced on the side of the bathtub, the next they were tangled in her hair, pulling it just enough to tingle, then burn. He pressed her lips apart, their tongues stroking, tasting.
One of his hands released her hair and he gripped the back of her neck, keeping her lips against his when she started to pull back. Not because she wanted to stop but because she needed air. She was light-headed. And horny.
She was really fucking horny.
Roman gave no sign of being even close to finished. Until Tate cleared his throat.
“Am I going to get a chance to play?”

“Darcy Young,” she said, obviously before glancing at the caller ID on her work phone. “Oh, Ryder. Hey. What’s up?”
“Can you come to my office for a few minutes?”
“Sure. Do you need me to bring anything?”
He’d never summoned her to his office once in the past three months she’d worked here, so she obviously thought this had something to do with the job.
He wished he could be that fucking professional right now.
“No.” He disconnected the call, then watched the door.
The marketing department was fairly close, so she was there within a minute or two.
“Shut the door,” he said the second she crossed the threshold. “And lock it.”
Darcy froze for a split second, her gaze locking with his. Then, she grinned and did exactly as he asked.
He rose from his chair and crooked his finger at her. “Come here.”
He’d resisted kissing her for two whole weeks. He was calling that a victory.
Of course, he was about to have to restart the clock.
Darcy crossed the office, stopping a few feet in front of him.
He shook his head. “Closer.”
She glanced over her shoulder at the locked door, then closed the distance between them.
Ryder wasted no time gripping her upper arms and pulling her the rest of the way toward him, lowering his head and kissing her hard. Darcy, as always, was an active, enthusiastic participant. She kissed like she lived—with exuberance and joy.
He felt the ends of her lips tip up in a smile as her tongue darted out to play with his. At one point, she even nipped his bottom lip, giggling when he narrowed his eyes at the brief pain.
She tucked her hands beneath his suit jacket, her fingers gripping his dress shirt at his midsection. Meanwhile, he couldn’t manage to touch her enough. He ran his fingers through her hair, then cupped the nape of her neck to deepen the kiss. After that, his hands drifted lower along her back, to her waist, to her hips. She gasped slightly when he dropped them even farther and gripped her ass.
Darcy was the first to pull away slightly, sucking in a deep breath of air. Ryder wasn’t ready to stop, so he placed kisses on her cheek, along her neck.
“Is this going to be our thing?” Darcy asked breathlessly. “Friday kisses? Because I’m totally cool with branching out and including a few more days of the week. Maybe Mondays? Wednesdays? Every day that ends in Y? You missed last Friday, by the way, so you owe me extra kisses.”
Ryder wasn’t ready to talk. Talking required thinking and thinking led to common sense and reality. He wasn’t willing to go there yet. He kissed her again, trying to understand what it was about this woman that had him acting like a horny teenager on his first date. He was a grown-ass, reasonable, responsible man, who’d never had trouble remaining in control.
“Darcy,” he whispered. “I think you’ve put a spell on me.”
“No. Not a spell. But I’m sort of hoping I’ve cursed you.”
He lifted his head, confused. “A curse? That would be worse than a spell.”
She shrugged casually. “Depends on who you ask, I guess.”
