| Fans of Abbi Glines and Katy Evans will adore Take the Fall, the first spinoff novel from Marquita Valentine’s New York Times bestselling Boys of the South series. In this emotional new romance, passions run hot as a rugged, brooding Marine rekindles an old flame.
As a teenager, Seth O’Connor went to jail for a crime he had nothing to do with. He took the fall to protect the girl he loved, but the cruel realities of prison hardened him. After doing his time, Seth shuts her out and enlists in the Marines—until his grandmother’s funeral forces him to come home and face Rowan Simmons once again. The woman she’s become puts all his high-school memories to shame, and Seth wants her more than ever. Can he be honest about why he denied her for so long? After Seth pushed her away, Rowan swore that no man would ever hurt her again. But the boy who broke her heart has become a sexy Marine, capable of fulfilling her every desire—and now that he’s back in town, old feelings are simmering to a boil. Rowan wants to stay strong, even as her body surrenders to his expert touch. She only hopes that by taking him back, she can finally help heal the wounds that drove them apart. Includes a special message from the editor, as well as an excerpt from another Loveswept title. |

It’s my brother’s fault I’m in this mess. Flying is my number one fear. And what does he do? He chooses a destination wedding in Ireland, all the way across the Atlantic. So, before I board the metal deathtrap, I knock back a drink… or two… or possibly three, just to calm my nerves. And now I’m so drunk, I can’t think straight. But I’m sober enough to know my seatmate is the sexiest guy I’ve ever laid eyes on. Xavier I’m sitting next to the most adorable girl I’ve ever seen. Well, almost adorable. She’s a little tipsy. Strike that. She’s plastered. But we still manage to hit it off. Behind that sarcastic booze-fueled mouth is a girl I could really fall for. Too bad she has no idea I’m in a wheelchair. I’m not afraid of flying, but I’m terrified of how she’ll feel when she finds out the truth. |

a well written story that was unfortunately far too short to really dive into the characters but it had a lot of potential – I really wished for it to be longer – but if this is any indication of how the stories in that series will be I can not wait to read more – I just hope that the other stories are longer but I guess it depends also on the authors #sigh |

| A future prince walks into her diner, pretending to be a pauper. Will one kiss cause all her dreams to come true?
Imagine for a moment being dumped by your boyfriend via paper airplane that hits you in the face. And, only minutes later, discover you’re being fired from a job you’ve had for years. Sounds terrible, right? That’s my day, and it’s only Tuesday. Most of my life has been crappy like that but I refuse to let it get me down. Hi, I’m Grace and I plan on following my dream no matter what gets in my way. What’s my dream? I think it’s opening an 80’s themed diner. That’s what my good friend told me since I love all things 80’s and diner food. It makes sense so why not? The only obstacle I’ve come across is tall, with dark hair, an accent that will warm your, uh, heart, and desperate for a job at my diner. I really wish I didn’t have to fire him. I will level with you. I’m not who Grace thinks. She sees me as a cool, down-to-earth guy that is humble, caring, and one of the best employees at her diner. She also thinks my name is Nico Aster. I may have stretched the truth by a lot. My formal title is Nicolas Aster Rowley Chillingham, current Duke of Ironlea and future Prince of Northern Cambria. After the holiday ceremonies and come the new year, I will officially be crowned Prince of Cambria. I’m desperate to get out of becoming a prince so I devise a plan to pretend to be an average guy looking for a job at a diner. No one in Cambria will find me in the tiny restaurant in Chicago. I plan on returning to my home one day but when I’m ready. The only problem is the owner. The more times I spend getting to know her, the more I wonder if I ever want to go back. |

My first book by this author – the plot sounded great but somehow it was more a comedy than a romance (at least I felt like it even if it did not fit the plot somehow) so it was not what I was looking for and somehow with that plot the writing style did not work out great for me so it’s unfortunately only an OK read for me. |

| Every fighter is drawn to the violence, the release that a perfect hit can bring.
But very few are drawn to the pain. Rex Carter lives behind a wall of indifference. The demons from his childhood act as an anesthetic, keeping him distant from emotional connections. Only the ache from a knock to the jaw, the sting of a tattoo needle, or the heat from a piercing can jolt him back from the numbness. The fiery pain is all he can feel, and nothing compares to the burn. Or so he thought. Working in a Las Vegas bar isn’t Georgia McIntyre’s dream. But she hopes it’ll be an end to the nightmare. She’s watched him, followed him and kept tabs, all in preparation for this moment: to make amends and share the secret she’s been carrying since she was a kid. But she didn’t count on the feelings that seeing him again would stir up, the vacant look in his stormy-blue eyes, and his perfect body now mutilated by ink and metal. And she knows why. She’s lived his pain every single day, since the day he left. Changed by time, Rex doesn’t remember the girl from his past. If only she could do the same. Will she get the absolution she’s spent her life seeking? Or will he continue Fighting to Forget? |

| I read several of the later works from that author and I knew I loved her style. Usually earlier works leave room for improvment as authors get better over time – but this author – wow – it seems she “was born” to write intense. Nothing could have prepared me for this plot …. – ok that is not true – I should have guessed after reading Split – …. this author is a def. “1-cklick” for me … |
