Blurb:

The leader of the group. He is uptight, formal, and cold. Rigid and set in his ways, always following the same path. Until the day, he stumbles upon her.

Emmy.

She brings with her spontaneity and light. The world she lives in is so different from his, yet he cannot control the draw to her. Nor can he explain the way she makes him feel.

Happy.

Protective.

Loved.

AUTHOR INFORMATION:

Melanie Moreland – Bio:

New York Times/USA Today bestselling author Melanie Moreland, lives a happy and content life in a quiet area of Ontario with her beloved husband of twenty-seven-plus years and their rescue cat Amber. Nothing means more to her than her friends and family, and she cherishes every moment spent with them.

While seriously addicted to coffee, and highly challenged with all things computer-related and technical, she relishes baking, cooking, and trying new recipes for people to sample. She loves to throw dinner parties, and also enjoys travelling, here and abroad, but finds coming home is always the best part of any trip.

Melanie loves stories, especially paired with a good wine, and enjoys skydiving (free falling over a fleck of dust) extreme snowboarding (falling down stairs) and piloting her own helicopter (tripping over her own feet.) She’s learned happily ever afters, even bumpy ones, are all in how you tell the story.

Winston Bentley Ridge the III also just known as Bentley is stiff, rigid and formal, having a specific upbringing hasn’t particularly helped. He is rich comes across as entitled and has only two friends who he considers to be family. (They will get books as well) but beneath all of it he is a lost man with a heart of gold that never comes to light until one chance encounter at Al’s coffee shop.

„Hi, stranger, sitting at my table. I’m Emmy”

They get off to a hilarious start.

Emmy is somewhat of a loner all her life she has been taught to not trust anyone and to leave at the drop of a hat. She has two friends Cami & Dee who are more likely family. But even that is hard for her after growing up with her Grandmother because of her non-existent parents said parents leaving her and then her brother up and leaving her.

For me Bentley is a fantastic Hero, once he opens up he gives it his all. All his love, his loyalty and his money means nothing to him. I love everything about him. How he is and how he acts and how interacts with Emmy and his friends Aiden & Maddox.

Emmy is a strong heroine. She is strong, caring, sassy, sweet and pure of heart. She accepts Bentley the way he is. She also keeps him on his toes. It is rare where an author can write where I equally like both MC.

What Emmy and Bentley have is special although the instant love was somewhat too much for me
There is a reason why it only gets four stars though. The first one being I knew quite early on who the culprit is. Bentley acted like a douchecanoe which wasn’t at all necessary IMO. The love they have is pretty instantaneous but I think the author is known for that, I would have liked to have had more build up between the two.

I liked the blurb of this book and I really enjoy the Ms. Moreland’s writing style and here she has written an upbeat, sweet enticing read with loveable, unique and flawed characters. The plot is interesting an easy and quick read. . I loved all the characters in the book and am really looking forward to Aiden’s and Maddox’s books.
