Talk Hockey to Me, an all-new swoon-worthy, hockey romance from USA Today bestselling author Kelly Jamieson is available now!

They can resist their attraction…until their hearts rocket them across the blue line.
Hunter Timing. Hockey careers are made or broken on it, and mine has taken an exceptionally broken road. I’m not a star. I’m a grinder, I work hard, and I’m finally at the point I can put the past behind me and get the fat, long-term contract I deserve.
But my agent—the man who stuck by me through every crash and burn—has had a heart attack. I need another agent now, or my one chance for the good money will slip through my fingers. Kate’s a rookie, but she loves the game like I do, so I pick up the phone. And I wonder if she remembers that one night in Cancun as vividly as I do.
Kate Hockey. All my life I’ve lived it, breathed it, played it. Now it’s my business. As an agent, I’m tied to my phone at all hours, but nothing prepared me to hear Hunter’s voice. The last time I saw him—three years ago—there was a lot of bare skin and horny hormones involved.
I’ve handled it all in my short career—sexism, harassment, being broke, being laughed at. Resisting the attraction between us should be easy. Until it isn’t. And Hunter’s past shakes his confidence hard enough that he could make the worst decision at the worst possible time…

Excerpt
We walk into the bright and sunny apartment. Being a corner unit, it has lots of windows, and the décor is light and airy, all pale gray and white. “Cute place,” I say. “Thanks. It’s tiny but I love the neighborhood.” “It looks like you.” Kate gives me a skeptical look. “Organized. Tidy. Modern.” She gives me a long, impassive look. “That’s me, huh? Tidy?” Shit. There I go again. I called her tough that night and I think she was insulted. Now I’ve done it again. “Well, not right now,” I admit, eyeing her sweaty hair and face. That probably didn’t make it better. “You’re not wrong.” She sighs and sets the bear head on the small island. “Okay, help me get this off. I really need to pee now.” We wrestle her out of the costume, and I try not to notice that I’m touching her. Under the getup, she’s wearing a thin tank top and a pair of tiny, tight black shorts. I swallow hard. One hand grazes her bare arm. Then her thigh. I hear her sharp intake of breath and my gaze lands on her nipples, now hard and poking against her bra and tank top. Christ. I kneel to help her step out of the costume. She sets a hand on my shoulder for balance and lifts one long, sleek leg. I want to run my hands up and down her leg so badly my palms tingle. My dick is pushing aggressively against the fly of my jeans. I look up at her. She’s watching me, her lips parted, her eyes pupils dilated. A flush stains her cheeks and she catches her bottom lip between her teeth. Daringly, I set my hands on her calf and she pulls the other foot free of the fur garment. I slide my hands around the back of her firmly muscled calves, and then up to the backs of her knees. She shivers. “Hunter…” She’s not stopping me. I glide my hands up the backs of her thighs, then over the little shorts to cup her ass. I straighten my legs and stand, pulling her closer. Bending my head, we’re nearly nose to nose. Her eyelashes flutter. Our mouths are so close… “Kate.” She pulls back, her eyes full of regret. “Hunter. We can’t do this.” I close my eyes at the stab of disappointment. “Right. Right. Sorry.” “Also, I still have to go to the bathroom.” She darts away from me and into the bathroom, slamming the door shut. I lean against her kitchen island, sweating, breathing hard. My heart is galloping. Jesus. I fucked up. Why did I touch her like that? What the fuck is wrong with me?

Synopsis
To me, he was Grizzly. To the world, I would learn, he’s someone else completely.
I should have died on that mountain. But he rescued me.
More animal than man, he’s cold, distant, and fiercely territorial. He seems to hate me for simply breathing, and yet, he brought me back to life.
After my return to the city, I can’t stop thinking about him. His rough hands, intense glare, and the way he cared for me as if I meant something to him.
He tells me he’s dangerous. That I’m not safe around him. I would eventually understand why he warned me away. But by then it’s too late. My heart is his.

Prologue Shay
PAST It burned. Everywhere and nowhere. Slices in my skin that made it feel as if hot lava had been poured into my flesh. I couldn’t count them, had lost track after the tenth. I tried to move, to somehow escape. Only my fingers twitched. Sounds. Voices. Hovering above me. They were everywhere and yet nowhere. Pinpricks of light, like glimmering stars on the darkest night. “Miss? Can you hear me?” I managed a low moan. I only wanted the pain to stop. The agony tearing through my body. I craved a blanket of nothingness. An endless sea where I would cease to exist altogether. “I’m an EMT. You’re safe. We’ve got you.” “Hurts.” It was the only message I cared about getting across. This woman might have the power to lessen the burn. A hand slipped into mine, blood sliding down my arm to bind us together, the liquid already growing tacky with the passage of time. “I know. Just hold on.” I didn’t want to hold on. I wanted to float away to a world where none of this was real. Where pain didn’t exist—only light and peace and relief. “Can you tell us who did this to you?” My eyes fluttered. My cracked lips parted. I could only manage two words. “My brother.”

From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Darynda Jones comes a new story in her Charley Davidson series…
The job should have been easy.
Get in. Assess the situation. Get out. But for veteran tracker Quentin Rutherford, things get sticky when the girl he’s loved since puberty shows up, conducting her own investigation into the strange occurrences of the small, New Mexico town. He knew it would be a risk coming back to the area, but he had no idea Amber Kowalski had become a bona fide PI, investigating things that go bump in the night. He shouldn’t be surprised, however. She can see through the dead as clearly as he can. The real question is, can she see through him?
But is anything that’s worth it ever easy?
To say that Amber is shocked to see her childhood crush would be the understatement of her fragile second life. One look at him tells her everything she needs to know. He’s changed. So drastically she barely recognizes him. He is savage now, a hardened—in all the right places—demon hunter, and she is simply the awkward, lovestruck girl he left behind. But she doesn’t have time to dwell on the past. A supernatural entity has set up shop, and it’s up to them to stop it before it kills again. While thousands of questions burn inside her, she has to put her concern over him, over what he’s become, aside for now. Because he’s about to learn one, undeniable fact: she’s changed, too.
**Every 1001 Dark Nights novella is a standalone story. For new readers, it’s an introduction to an author’s world. And for fans, it’s a bonus book in the author’s series. We hope you’ll enjoy each one as much as we do.**

Excerpt
“Intruder!” Kyle said from behind him, a day late and a dollar short. Quentin glared at him, and Kyle stepped back reflexively. Then he refocused his glare on Amber. “What?” she asked, her hackles rising as hackles are wont to do. “What are you doing here?” Again, his signs were sharp with irritation. As Amber sat in utter astonishment—He Who Must Not Be Named was literally the last person on Earth she’d expected to see today—she used the break to take him in. How much could a guy change in five years? If Quentin Rutherford was any indication, a hella lot. She barely recognized him. He’d hardened—in all the right places. His shoulders had widened more than most twenty-seven-year-olds. He’d always been muscular, even when they were kids, but either he’d been hitting the gym, or he’d been magically photoshopped. The hills and valleys that covered his body to exquisite perfection could be seen through the long-sleeved T-shirt he wore, his biceps stretching the seams to their limits. And the jeans, the ones with a few holes here and there, were not a fashion statement so much as a favored pair of work pants. “Ms. Kowalski?” Kyle said. Quentin turned to him, and Amber caught a glimpse of two things: the profile of his steely buttocks that had developed as much as the rest of him, and a particularly well-placed rip in the worn jeans that showed part of the indentation in his left ass cheek. The fact that he wasn’t wearing underwear was a bonus. How could anyone she hated so much be so startlingly drop-dead sexy? Life was not fair. Then she realized something. He’d heard Kyle. Quentin had turned when Kyle spoke, and she wondered if he’d finally gotten a pair of hearing aids. They’d never helped him that much before, so he never wore them, but technology had advanced a lot since then. Maybe they had more powerful aids now that could help him hear. She snuck a glance but didn’t see any mechanical earpieces. Interesting. When he turned back to her, she couldn’t get over how much he’d changed. His hair was shorter now and a little darker but still a rich, tawny blond. And he’d either started wearing it spiked, or he had bedhead. Either way, he was even more gorgeous than before. Full mouth. Straight nose. Deep blue eyes like the cobalt on a ceramic bowl. Damn it.

All the Beautiful Things, the highly anticipated conclusion to the unforgettable Love & Lies Duet by Stacey Lynn is available now!

She’d been betrayed too many times to hand over her trust. I’d lost too many people to love too easily.
Together, we were a mess. A constant struggle for peace. Yet it was in each other we found everything we were looking for. Until tragedy struck and I feared the worst. Pushing her away would have been the best. Kept us safe and unshaken.
But it was too late. My little fighter had determined what she wanted, and she was willing to go down swinging to finally earn her happily ever after.
It was her determination that kept us together, even through the worst of it. If we finally made it to the other side, all the ugly things we’d survived could lead to something beautiful.

Excerpt from All the Ugly Things:
She worked in a shithole diner and probably lived in a shithole place when she was the daughter of a state judge, probably grew up in private schools with a Mercedes gifted to her on her sixteenth birthday and more money than my own parents had. This shouldn’t be her life. She’s better than this. Better than her circumstance and I believe her. She just needs someone to help. The memory of Melissa’s pleading eyes made me squeeze my own eyes shut. “Fucking bleeding heart.” Since she could walk, she had a calling to save everything from kittens and frogs and turtles in the road to classmates and children where she worked. One last request. Promise me. I’d wanted to throttle her slim, pale throat. I gripped the door handle and scowled at the silver-plated handle, before I threw it open. “Happy now?” I asked, and somehow, I knew she was. Lilly was still in the back when I entered. Where Dad said she always stood, there was an old laptop with notebooks spread open. I took the seat at the far end and waited, snagging a menu from the counter on my way. The food was cheap, basic diner food, perfect for the clientele a place like this brought in. Greasy, thick burgers, patty melts, and Reubens. Sandwiches and burgers and two salad options. It was late enough none of it appealed to me. Probably why my dad came for the pies. Fortunately for me, he’d said they were the best he’d ever tasted, and I’d inherited his sweet tooth. The creak of old, squeaky door hinges rang out and I lifted my head. Lilly came out carrying a tray stacked with food, focused on the four-top. I didn’t move for fear of distracting her. Not a great first impression to make if she ended up covered in grease and condiments. The guys at the table did more shoulder-slapping, whooping and hollering like they were watching the Super Bowl and not their food being delivered. I kept my eyes on them, waiting for one to give me a reason to put an end to all of them. The dark-haired guy would be first. He sat at the outer edge of the booth and as Lilly leaned forward to deliver a tray to the guy next to him, his hand hovered inches from her backside. The blond across the table egged him on with a nod but she stood back, put space between them, and barked, “Even think of touching me and none of you are leaving with your dicks still attached to your body.” “Oohh. I’ll show you mine happily,” one said, hands dropping to his lap. She glared at him, resting bitch face I was certain she learned in prison firmly in place. It didn’t look right on her. Too hard. Too forced. What would she have been like as a smiling, happy teenager before life was stolen from her? Damn it. I felt it then. That pull my dad had when he first saw her. She’d lost too much.
Meet Stacey Lynn:

Stacey Lynn likes her coffee with a dash of sugar, her heroes with a side of bossy, and her wine a deep shade of red.
The author of over thirty romance novels, many of which have been best-selling titles on Amazon, AppleBooks, and Barnes & Noble, she loves being able to turn her vivid imagination into a career that brings entertainment and joy to her readers. Focused on sports romance and emotional, small-town romance, she also loves stretching herself in different genres.
Born in Texas and raised in the Midwest, she now makes her home in North Carolina and loves all things Southern. Together with her ultimate tall, dark, and handsome hero, she has four children. “Where do we go from here? Where do we even start?” That is the real problem. What do we do with this information? “My best guess is that our next move should be to go to L.A. and find a way to see what Aiden Romanov knows,” Amy replies. “But who can go?” Mom rasps. It’s another good question. “I was thinking I could—” Amy begins but I cut her off by raising my hand. “No. If your next words were to go to L.A. then it’s a no,” I answer and Mom nods. “We are not putting you in any more danger,” Mom agrees. “I don’t know what I would do if something happened to you,” I say. “Please tell me Jude won’t know you helped us.” “No, he won’t. My contact works outside the realms of everything, and that’s why I didn’t use any of my devices at work or at home. He will never know.” “Good. I think that’s it. You should stop helping now.” “I can’t just stop helping. What are you going to do?” Her brows pinch and the worry I saw earlier in her bright green eyes intensifies. What am I going to do? That’s such a good question. Eric’s in captivity, and if I marry Jude, the same fate awaits me. Marrying him will be the anchor to my hell. I will be in captivity, and what do I think is going to happen to Mom? If Jude can threaten my life so easily and tell me fucked up shit about not wanting something to happen to me after the wedding, what do I really think he’ll do to my mother? If he can make my brother disappear for five years, can I be foolish enough to think worse won’t happen to me? This is just the tip of the shit and…I have a really bad idea. An idea which takes residence in my soul with each passing second. “I’ll go,”I say and they both look at me as if I’ve just lost my mind. It’s laughable because I wonder the same. Have I gone crazy? Do I really think I can save Eric and change things? Stop Jude? Find Aiden and do what? I have no plan and I’m just me. Olivia Markov. There’s nothing special about me. But I’d sure as fuck prefer to walk in the valley of the shadow of death, in the lair of beasts, than sign my life away to Jude Kuzmin. “No,” Mom blurts. “Olivia no.” “Then what? What should we do? Leave things as they are? Leave Eric to die in captivity? You want me to marry Jude so he can accidentally kill me, then kill you?” “Olivia it’s dangerous.” “Don’t you think I know that.” “Olivia, I have to agree with your mother,” Amy says. “Aiden Romanov is a very dangerous man, and we have no idea what the newly found Syndicate members are like.” “You’re telling me this, and you were offering to go?” “Eric is my friend. I just want to help.” “You have babies.” “I know, and I… I just feel bad I can’t do more.” “You’ve helped enough.” “But we’re stuck. How are you even going to escape? There are guards everywhere, and they’re with you twenty-four seven.” And if I escape Mom’s dead. There must be a way around this. When I think about yesterday when I saw Jude and the way he treated me I shudder inwardly. He wants us to focus on that fucking wedding, and every time the word is mentioned I feel like I want to die. I close my eyes and the thought of the wedding stirs an idea in my mind. An idea that just might work. My eyes snap open and I look at Amy and then at Mom. “I think I might have come up with something. Something that will get me to Aiden Romanov.”
