Blurb : All I’ve ever wanted is to fit in.But no one can ever see past how weird I am. Bright lights? Can’t stand them. Loud noises? Definitely sends me over the edge. And touching? Forget about it.At least, until I met Drake. From the moment I walked into that nightclub, I finally felt like I belonged somewhere. And when Drake touched me, it didn’t send me into a tailspin of sensations that I couldn’t stand. It actually felt…nice. Like something I could get used to. And it doesn’t hurt that he’s probably the hottest guy I’ve ever seen. But now someone wants to close the club down. And since I promised Drake that I’d help him keep it open, I’m going to have to find a way to tap into whatever that inner strength thing is that everyone always talks about. And fast. But what happens if I can’t?

Review : Silver Edge by Ciara Knight left me feeling kind of divided. It started as such a great read, introducing us to such an intriguing female character and a guy that really understood her.

I loved the deep feelings the author managed to evoke with me for “Einstein”. I really felt like I could understand her struggles. Then there was Drake a kind of unusual guy with what seemed like several faces – or at least a Now & Then face.

This book was honestly heading for a straight 5 star review … and than the last 10% happened.

It really felt like “happened” – because the story was floating as it should and naturally the reader knows that there has to come a kind of crescendo with a turn of events as most books have but it honestly felt like this story suffered an accident rather than experiencing a climax.

The well developed character of Drake lost himself in ramblings that made no sense whatsoever… And even with all the given issues I would have expected more of a person that is called “Einstein” – not to spoiler anything majorly I am just saying 3 words :

Contact ?

Grandmother !

Coffeeshop ! followed by my thought : “ if they really had wanted it….. ”

There were just too many incidents happening at one time that together with silly excuses ruined the ending for me.

Still it is a good story (sounds strange I know) it is just that when an author manages to engage me AND my feelings (that is what is needed for a 5 star review-> feelings) the result will also be an emotional one if something is not done as the story would have deserved it.

This is just my very personal opinion and I think I will pick up another book by this author to see how she handles the crescendo in other cases …
