|He was everything she wasn’t looking for …
Finding a naked rock star in my bed was not how I saw my new life starting. Especially when that rock star is Evan Wyld, guitarist of the hottest band on the planet, Dirty Texas.
He looks dirty as sin with colorful tattoos, muscles and piercings in all the right places. Summer is about to heat up as I join Dirty Texas on their European tour.
She was everything he wasn’t ready for…
Sienna Hayes is off limits, but ever since the blonde bombshell accidentally climbed into my bed, I’ve been fantasizing about the ways I could help her get over her ex.
She has baggage, but I’m known for being a good time. Maybe I can be her rebound, help put her back together again.
One little taste can’t hurt; can it?
I had really high hopes for this book but those were already destroyed after the first few pages.
The story idea was good – yet the actual development of the story and especially the created characters were not. They were acting far of the way one would imagine a person in their situation to act. Most of the times they were more like 18 year olds – no scratch that – I know people that actually ARE that age and act more mature.
It was impossible for me to even attempt to connect with those characters and I had to give up reading – sorry.

I went on the blind date to get my friends off my back. I wasn’t prepared for Finn. Hot, famous, take-my-breath-away Finn. But no amount of chemistry with a movie star changes the fact that I’m a widow. That my heart is lost forever. And if Finn needs something, too? That’s not my problem. Except… I can’t stop thinking about him.
I thought LA could offer me no more surprises. I’ve seen it all. The good, the bad and the plastic. Turns out, LA had one last surprise for me. George was everything I knew I shouldn’t want, but I couldn’t make myself stay away from her. The only thing standing in my way? Her.
This book was waiting to be read for quite some time now and I finally manged some time for it but I am honestly super confused about this book. The story could have been really good – not like “over-the-moon-great” but good. But the book (I am sorry I have to be so open and honest and I do not mean to disrespect the writing) was killed by its writing style. The plot had repetitions of stuff that was totally unnecessary. The writing changed from first to third person with one sentence. And the characters never followed a straight line in anything they did – changing their directions and oppinions sometimes twice on one page. I am sorry for the story but it really hurt to read this book
|Falling for the Billionaire|
|One Night Stand #4|
|J.S. Cooper, Helen Cooper|
|July 8th 2017|
|“A man like me takes what he wants when he wants it.”
Lacey wanted to find a sexy and irresistible man. Only, she never thought she’d meet someone like Henry James. Henry James had a wicked smile and dazzling eyes. He was arrogant, handsome, teasing, and the sexiest man she’d ever seen in her life.
The only problem was Henry James was everything she wasn’t looking for in a man. He was too handsome. Too rich. Too alpha. He was the sort of man that could have Lacey doing what he wanted without her even knowing. He was the sort of man that had her doing things she never thought she’d do.
Plain and simple, Henry James was trouble and Lacey wanted nothing to do with him. However, Henry had other plans and the first of which was to get Lacey into his bed.
Falling For the Billionaire is a hot sexy standalone book. Readers should be 18 and over due to mature content.
God I am not even sure why I tried to finish this book. I am sorry to have to be so blunt but there is really nothing about the book that I liked. I must be a glutton for punishment – same like the female lead. The male lead is just annoying me from beginning to end and the fact that you do not hear anythig from his pov during the story (only at the end) does not help his case – you just feel pissed off by him constantly. With no redeeming qualities at all. The female leads best friend is even more annoying than both leads togehter ….. because she does not have an oppinion at all – she is constantly changing her mind within secondes … “stay away from him” – half a page later “go for it” … sorry but that is not the way to go. Gosh this complete story feels like a waste of time …. so so sorry but this is my very honest oppinion

|Being rich opens up the pleasures of the world.
Women. Cars. Businesses. Money.
What more could you want? The world is your oyster and you can act like a jerk all you want. No one’s going to say a thing. Why would they? You’re in control. You’re the rising power.
Until you’re not.
When Elijah loses his memory from a motorcycle accident, he can’t remember anything, including his childhood or anything from his past.
Apparently, he was a real pain in the ass before he had his accident.
His older brother and beautiful personal assistant step in to help him form a new life. A better life, but he has so many questions.
Why doesn’t his mother speak with him at all anymore? Why is his brother so docile around him? Why are his employees timid and depressed when he walks in the room.
Was he really the monster they’re all making him out to be? And even more… will he wake up from his memory loss and become that guy again?
At the end of the day, what’s important when you’ve lost everything?
Nothing but the people who love you and support you. For Elijah… that’s no one.
But then he meets Kendall. Will she be able to love this man known for only caring for himself?
Billionaire Amnesia is a 90,000-word, FULL LENGTH, Standalone steamy bad boy alpha billionaire romance. No cliffhanger and has a HEA. Includes 4 free bonus full-length box sets and novels for a limited time.
I really liked the story idea of this book… and unfortunately well – that’s about it when it comes to the positive aspects of this book. With some mayor revisions, this might actually be an enjoyable story. But the way it presents itself just now it’s kind of painful to read, which is also the reason why I did not finish it.
Besides other smaller issues – the worst thing for me was that there really seemed to be nothing even remotely human or redeeming about the male lead before his accident and all this is thrown at the reader as the “FIRST impression” page after page right at the beginning. And as we all know how important those first impressions are – in this case the reader is really influenced to not only NOT like the male lead but like in my case honestly DESPISE him.
And while there might be an author out there working magic with his writing style and therefore be able to recover his lead from that cliff. It absolutely did not work in this case. The whole story stayed too superficial for that.
Had the story started in any other way …. Like in a NOW and THEN storyline with glimpses in the past to reveal why people felt the way they did about him it might work out with this writing style but as it is now – it is a lost case….
My aim was to read 150 books this year. I wanted to read less compared to the other years. Yes I consider 150 books to be light reading. Yep I’m crazy.
I actually managed to read 272 books this year. There is a lot to say about the books that I read this year. Around 160 where ARCs the rest I actually bought. Yes, I bought books. I’ve managed to get a lot of hit reads but there were times when it was a major miss. My taste in books has also changed and I read books I normally wouldn’t have read. I even started buying paperbacks again. There is just something about having books on your shelves.
The Good, the Bad & the Ugly.
My first read of 2017 and it didn’t go as planned. I wanted to start out with a bang and all I got was a poof.
Let’s get to the rest of the year so here comes the Good of 2017
Top 10 and in no particular order. These are all 4/5 Star reads.
Come Closer by Brenda Rothert
A pleasure to read actually for me it was pure perfection. There were so many twists and turns and I usually see them coming but here nope. I had no clue what was going to happen.
Dear Aaron by Marina Zapata
One of the best books where all of the interaction took place via email. Ms. Zapata is the QUEEN of slow burn crockpot romance. Read her other books as well.
Gifts by Brynne Asher
The third book in the series and one of my favourites. Ms. Asher is an author that is extremely underestimated IMO and deserves more recognition. Asa the Hero of the book is one of the best Hero’s of 2017.
The Staff and the Blade by Elizabeth Hunter
One of the most unique series in paranormal romance. The main characters love spanned a lifetime and was so beautiful.
Sugar & Gold by Emma Scott.
Ms. Scott is my new to me author of 2017. The first book I read by her was The Butterfly Project and well she is a genius and blends a lot of unique characters to fall in love.
Gun Shy by Lili St. Germain.
When you request a book by this author you just know that it will be filled with mindfuckery.
“Beware the dark pool at the bottom of our hearts. In its icy, black depths dwell strange and twisted creatures it is best not to disturb.”
Pretty much sums it up. Even now when I think of the heroine she still gives me goose bumps.
Bombshell by C.D. Reiss.
My first read by this author and I loved every moment of it. There was no other woman drama and the real star of the book was the little Bombshell. I am impressed by the author’s work not all of it is for me but that is fine.
Ashwin by Kit Rocha.
A spin-off series from Beyond and I waited a frigging long time for Ashwin to get his book with Dr. Cora. These two really know how to create a world. If you’re not into kink then you don’t have to read the Beyond Series although it is amazing to read.
Crave Me by Cecy Robson
Loud and brash Irish family that get involved in everything? Sign me up. I loved the heroine in this book and how they complemented one another. There were so many laugh out loud moments. The book is a riot.
Storm Gathering by Rebecca Zanetti
There are so many dystopian series out there but this one tops all of them and a bonus? It’s not for teenagers but for adults. I have loved this series from the beginning and would recommend it.
Let’s get to the rest of the year so here comes the Worst of 2017
Top 10 and in no particular order.
Something There and in Between by S. Ferguson.
The Hero gushes about the heroine throughout the beginning of the book and then decides to get a bj from the bird his brother fobbed off on him. And to leave with her. The heroine can’t be that important.
Darkest Sunrise by Aly Martinez
Keeping it real here. I don’t want predictable from this author. I want exceptional and this isn’t what I got.
Breaking Grace by Rose Devereux.
Just wrong on so many levels.
Midnight Kiss by Thea Harrison
If you’ve read the other books then you know why this fell short.
Born to be Wilde by Jenn Stark
Although the heroine is kickarse she is just too predictable in her actions and doesn’t think before she does something which only gets her into trouble. Probably meant to be that way but it doesn’t work for me.
I knew You were Trouble by Lauren Layne.
The MC antagonised one another too much. They were downright mean to one another and that is the kind of shite I don’t want to read about. I was finding the author’s books tiresome but then I met her and well she wasn’t what I expected.
Oracle’s Moon by Thea Harrison.
Yes she made it twice. This book bored me to frigging tears. Nuff said.
Forged in Desire by Brenda Jackson.
I caught a lot of flack for this review in 2017. I once again found that the story and the author’s writing skills (what skills?) didn’t appeal to me.
Fake Fiancée by Ilsa Madden-Mills.
Not liking it is completely on me is that I thought a Fake Fiancée sounded cool and was intrigued and it is by the talented Ilsa Madden-Mills. But the fake fiancée is a well-used plot sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t.
The Hitchhiker by Charlie Lee.
What is completely on me is that I thought a Fake Fiancée sounded cool and was intrigued and it is by the talented Ilsa Madden-Mills. But the fake fiancée is a well-used plot sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t.
Let’s get to the rest of the year so here comes the Ugly of 2017.
There really wasn’t a lot of Ugly this year. But there were some series that I started that turned frigging ugly.
The Fever Series.
Original, action-packed with amazing characters that keep you hooked to the book. All worked well until book 5 where Mac still wasn’t getting any slack and IMO she is TSTL.
Her reasoning in book 5 was ridiculous to say the least. Maybe one day I will go back to it.
Charley Davidson Series.
I’ve decided to stop with this series because even though I like Charley and her awesome sarcasm. I just can’t deal with her & Reyes at the moment. Maybe I will change my mind but I found out they get back to square one later on in the series. So no! I mean why?
The First Taste by Jessica Hawkins
This was recommended to me by a friend of mine and it was a freebie as well so I just couldn’t say no. This book is amazing and surprised me so much that I consider it to be one of my favourites.
The Ghostwriter by Alessandra Torre
This is my first book by this author and I was blown away with what was delivered. Be aware that it isn’t romance but a mystery/thriller. To be honest I don’t know why I picked it up but I’m glad I did. I’ve also bought the paperback, so nuff said really.
Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas
This was a charity shop buy as a paperback as everybody had been raiving about this series and well I didn’t want to pay that much. Another book in a genre I wouldn’t have usually read. But it is YA Fantasy apparently Erotica as well. I see some bits but not all of it.
The hard truth about Sunshine by Sawyer Bennett.
This here once again isn’t your typical romance but more of what life throws at you and what you make out of the lemons that you get. It had me laughing and crying all over the place. An outstanding read!
The Bourbon Thief by Tiffany Reisz
Just. Read. This. Book!
Spellbinder by Thea Harrison
A fabulous paranormal read where I thought I wouldn’t like the Hero but he is an Anti-Hero which made it all so much better. Thea Harrison is a fantastic author and although two of her books are on my worst list of 2017 the others outweigh those two by miles.
The Kate Daniels Series.
One of the best series that I have ever read. I love the world that has been created. When I grow up I want to be Kate Daniels. Curran is an amazing Hero. Oh then there is Derek. But the best thing of all? Hugh D’Ambray.
The Boston Underworld Series.
I avoid mafia books like the plague but when I was at RARE #17 in Berlin I met the author and I bought the second book, she was generous enough to give me the first book for free and since then I have been hooked.
- I was bullied into taking a review down by an author and till this day I really regret it.
- It was an honour when Ms. Hunter asked me to be on her ARC review team.
- I was trolled on numerous accounts and I’m not sure why. Being judged for not wanting to read a book is ridiculous. I don’t force my tastes on other people so why do it to me?
On a personal note not everything in 2017 was shiny for me.
We tried a medical treatment and it didn’t take. I was gutted but apart from that I’m alright.
The Pursuit of Happiness seems like an Urban Myth. It seems my expectations are too high.
What I would like for 2018
To move buy/build a house.
A new job because I am being smothered by my boss in so many ways and I need a new challenge.
Bookwise I would say that I want to read quality books. No more bad writing. No more unappealing titles. No more misleading blurbs. To finish series that I have started.

|She’s a superfan with a sassy mouth. I’ve got fame and fortune in spades – and I don’t mind using them to get what I want.
I’m kind of a big deal. As in, everyone on the planet knows who I am, and they have since I was fifteen. You’d think that doing whatever I want, not to mention the constant stream of women, would be pretty fun.
And they were. For a while. But now I’ve seen it all – and it’s enough to make a man pretty jaded.
When there’s a human stampede outside my concert, I jump out of my car to help. That’s before I see the girl who nearly got trampled – the tiny, young, adorable superfan.
So I invite her backstage… and before I know it, I’m inviting her to Vegas for a night of hard partying — and hopefully more.
No matter what I do, I can’t get this girl out of my head — her smart mouth, her huge blue eyes, and those crazy curves of hers are my own personal kryptonite. The fact that she doesn’t fawn all over me just adds fuel to my fire.
I’ll do anything it takes to win her – even pull out the old-school romance.
Jewelry? Check. Roller coaster ride at 4am? Check. Following her across the country like a Goddamn puppy dog? Check.
This girl is gonna be MINE.
This book was previously released under the same title. It has been extensively rewritten and expanded. It’s a light and sweet story with a guaranteed HEA and not even a hint of you-know-what!
I tried – believe me but the way this story is written it just felt wrong to me from the first page. It felt like not well developed and the way the leading characters were interacting was not a “turn-on” …

|Devon Jackson is a smug, arrogant prick. He’s also CEO at Worldwide Airways, and I’m the lucky one who lands a job as his PA—a job I soon learn to regret taking.
I do absolutely everything for him, from organising his appointments to picking up condoms for him every Friday afternoon.
Why do I put up with it?
Because, despite it all, I am obsessed with him and have been since I was fifteen. He treats me like dirt, yet I still come back for more.
To him, I’m untouchable. And not only to him, but every other man on the planet. The fact he’s my brother’s best friend has seen to that. They’re both possessive jerks.
And I put up with it…for a while.
Once I put my foot down, the dynamic changes. And it is at that moment I find out how he really feels.
In fact, I find out so much more than I bargain for. Not only is Devon host to some serious demons, but he also holds a very big, dark secret. A secret that could destroy our relationship before it gets a chance to begin.
Not so much a review – more an explanation of why I did not like this book.
There is nothing wrong with the writingstyle of this author, infact it is pretty good. If I would say something negative concerning that it would only be that I did not know that this is a DARK romance going into this book.
And that is actually the reason that I can not give a good review. Because if I had known this fact I probably would not have chosen to read this book. But what’s done is done and can not be undone.
Therefore this book really pushed some serious hardlimits with me of which I do not have many
I can not name them because then you would know to much about the story. Just believe me this is not for lovers of fluffy romances but I assume lovers of dark romances will like this book
“You can run, but can you hide?”
Life was perfect.
I was on top of the world winning one case after the other leaving no survivors in the wake of my devastation. They may see a pair of long legs in Louboutin heels, but remember my name when I’m finished with them.
Caitlin Winslow, the best, cut-throat defense lawyer in California.
I never play to lose.
It’s not in my DNA.
The actions of ethics don’t exist in my domain.
Satan, my father, who shaped my life turns up dead. Kill shot to the back of the head in his sleep. The people who murdered him aren’t stopping with his death. They’re after me.
I ran in the dark of night. Karma that evil bitch meets me step by step and forced me to stick out my thumb on the side of the lonely highway. I’m now the HITCHHIKER begging for redemption.
Oh, how life has a funny way of smacking you in the face.
Katch Sterling storms into my life, and now I’m in his car.
My complete opposite.
Who would’ve thought my world would come full circle on that lonely highway with a hired killer…
I tried I really did. I loved the beginning and then somewhere along the way it just went wrong. The plot is good with murder, mayhem, betrayal, lies and secrets coming to light.
I put it on hold @ 44% and after messaging with Eve I decided to pick it up again. Well people I hit the 75 % mark and I just can’t do it. For me it was like watching a bad B movie. I don’t mind the Heroes being d$cks but he took it to a whole another level. He claims the heroine takes her back to his place and after making his claim decides it would be a good idea to get a blowjob from his housekeeper and the heroine walks in. Yeah I know there are no promises but still. After silence between them he goes out to finish a job and hooks up with two women somewhat descriptive. I didn’t feel a connection between the main characters at all. It just felt like they were f. buddies nothing more and after a couple of weeks of bitching at one another she confesses her dying love to him.
It seems to be that I am the only one who feels like this so it is obviously me and not the book. Read it, don’t read it but don’t let my review sway you not to read it.
