Note: This series contains some adult situations. 18+, mature audiences recommended.
My thoughts on the first part of this series were :
I have a bad feeling where this journey is going to be honest – I liked the Blurb and started reading but already during the first pages I got the feeling that I would be having an issue here.
The characters were lacking depth and were simply acting immature (to be honest they were acting simply stupid) the dialogues were on the level of High School and so predictable that it almost hurt.
But I was thinking I will finish this because at some point this will have to get better – right ? – now the book is finished and I am not so sure – I think the only reason I finished this book was because it was so short …BUT I will try the second one before my final vote …
WELL and here I am again and what can I say the book developed #sarcasm
It still is all the things I mentioned above about the first part and now it adds “unbelievable” to the collection … and this happens in a way that I had to give up not only on finishing this 4 book series but already the finishing of the second part here . It was a DNF at around 70 % then skimming through the pages until I reached the end to make sure I do not miss any mayor breakthroughs
The blur already tells you that the male lead gets hurt so no mayor spoiler here from my side but in case you dislike spoilers do not read further
The description of the injuries of the male lead make me think that it is highly unbelievable that he is running around the way he is the day after the accident happens and I mean HIGHLY unbelievable
And the Issue with “who is going to handle his account” while the male lead is sitting in a corner listening is not only HIGHLY unprofessional with the client in the room, but also again done on the level of a High School disagreement – those two issues added on top of the rest and I had to give up on this story – sorry

* Just Pretend is a full length standalone romance novel of approximately 65,000 words, featuring a military bad boy and his curvy fake fiance who earn their HEA. It has no cliffhanger and no cheating.
This book was previously published in a different from as Harlow and this version has a changed and expanded plot line and additional super steamy scenes. Bonus content is included for your continued reading pleasure, including the never before published, sizzling hot story Whitney’s Slip and Slide SEAL. Enjoy!(less)
And here we have last weekends def. winner in the section “JUST PRETEND” I never read that book.
The Idea was good but the writing was poor and the story made me want to scream at times. When the other book this weekend “only” made me angry this one really did that AND made me want to scream. I just kept on going to read it because I could not believe that this was actually happening I must have been in a kind of shock.
I do not even know where to start if I had to explain what was wrong with this story.
Lets sum it up to one thing that stands before everything else … this is the first time ever that I heard that a SEAL gets his orders from a civil Dr. and not from a commanding officer.

|Once upon a time in New York City, there was a down-on-his-luck actor named Reeve, who was talented and gorgeous in that dreamy, broody sort of way that makes all the women swoon. But show biz is a rough biz – he lost out on a part in a big film, and now his day job hours have been cut too. What’s a handsome young thing in need of a role to do? Enter Sutton Brenner. She’s sexy and shrewd and the most top-notch casting director there is. She’s this close to landing a coveted gig casting a film based on a best-selling mega-romance novel, but there’s a catch. After one too many transgressions with lovely single ladies, the film’s philandering producer has been put on a short leash by his wife, who’s forbidden him from working with anyone unattached. So the happily single Sutton strikes a pact with Reeve – play the role of her fiancee until she closes the deal, and he’s guaranteed to get an audition for the starring role in the film. But as the two play pretend, the lines between make-believe and matters of the heart start to blur. Especially after that hot night in the balcony of the Broadway theater. And that scorching afternoon in the stacks of the New York Public Library. Who’s playing who? Or is someone else really the director in the secret affair of their lives?
PRETENDING HE’S MINE is a companion book in the New York Times and USA Today bestselling CAUGHT UP IN US series. It can be read before or after CAUGHT UP IN US. You do not need to have read CAUGHT UP IN US to enjoy this story, though characters from CAUGHT UP IN US appear in PRETENDING HE’S MINE.

|Twenty-one-year-old law student student Charlotte Holloway isn’t the type of girl to lust after things she can’t have. But when she starts working for the sexy and mysterious Noah Cutler, Charlotte can’t help but dream about the gorgeous billionaire, even though she knows it’s just a fantasy. Men like Noah – gorgeous, dark, and driven– usually aren’t interested in women like her.
Noah Cutler is a man who doesn’t take no for an answer. His drive to go after exactly what he wants has made him one of the most powerful men in the city. And while he could have his pick of any woman, his sights are set on Charlotte. And he won’t stop until he’s taken control of every inch of her deliciously curvy body…
“You are so fucking sexy,” Noah rasped. “Come here. Come to me.”
I got up and crossed the room to him, and he pulled me into his lap. His hand
“Yes,” I breathed.
“Tell me you want me to fuck you.”
“I want you to fuck me,” I said. “Please, I need you to fuck me.”
“Say my name.” He dipped a finger into my mouth and I sucked on it softly, watching his eyes blaze as I did it.
“Fuck me, Noah,” I whispered. “Please, I want you to fuck me.”
He kissed me then, softly, which was a surprise after all the dirty things he’d been saying to me. His tongue was warm and perfect, his mouth exploring mine, probing hungrily.
I pushed myself against the hardness of his dick, but just like he had earlier, he reached out and held my hips, stopping me. “No,” he said. “You don’t get to control this. I do. And we’re going to go nice and slow.”
He began to unbutton my shirt, stopping as soon as my breasts were exposed. He ran a finger over my cleavage.
“I’m going to explore every single inch of these hot, sexy curves of yours. Do you understand that, Charlotte?”
“Yes,” I said. I was dripping now, so turned on that I was afraid I might come without him even touching me.
He stood up, his hands grabbing at my ass. I wrapped my legs around him and he picked me up like it was nothing, like I was as light as a feather. I buried my face in his shoulder.
I hesitated for a just a second, right before he carried me into his bedroom.
If I did this, there was no turning back…
|When I read the blurb to this book I was intrigued and yeah it happened again I did not notice the page number – and please all fellow readers do me a favor – CHECK THE PAGENUMBERS – if you have the chance before you purchase a book.
I did not do that and imagine my surprise this is not a book – no if you ask me it is not even a novella or a short story – if I am being nice I might say it’s a chapter of a book.
What bugs me the most is that the plot is interesting – but could I recommend it ? Well I would have to give you a very separated opinion which makes it very hard to give a rating.
BUT if you are a normal reader buying book by book – I will say something I never said before …. Even though this book is good – STAY AWAY FROM buying it – sorry – but so far 24 “books” in – you would have paid more than 80 $ for around 1200 pages that would equal around 4 normal books … meaning you paid more than 20$ for one ebook …. And when was the last time you did that ? To support my opinion I opened the main kindle books page on amazon and searched randomly for the most expensive eBook there it was “The silent Corner” by Dean Koontz for 17$ and it has 466 pages (while I was calculating with 300) and I would never buy that kindle book because the hardcover of that book listed right beside it was CHEAPER than the eBook which is also something I can never understand as printing a physical book – with all side costs – should make a book more expensive than an electronical file. But that is an ongoing story for another time. But lets face the facts a random ebook of average page count costs less than 10 $ and in most cases even less than 5$.
The story is good yes but it is not THAT good that I could encourage a purchase with this pricing structure. Especially with no end in sight this feels like one of those collection / construction sets you can buy where you receive parts each week for a few bucks and you think “its not that much” but once you finish the collection (and you have no idea when that might be) you realize that you paid like 500$ for something that you needed to put together on your own while others bought the finished product for less than half …But naturally at first that “half” sounded like a lot and it seemed so much cheaper to spend only those tiny amounts ….
Even with as good as that story is I refuse to support this new system of chapter books that seems to be getting more and more popular by only reviewing this book based on its story. Everything about a book matters and the price is a big part of a book. So without “kindle unlimited” I can not recommend this book.

|Henry & Me|
|July 5th 2017|
|When we were in college, Henry Stone asked me out and I shot him down in the most humiliating way possible.
He was a nerd and I was the golden girl of the theatre society, destined to make it big in Hollywood, so how could there be anything between us?
Gosh I had just finished a book where the male lead was such a jerk that it hurt to read and I had to give up. Then starting this book thinking … with that title and it being a “Romantic Novel” what could go wrong.
It appears … A LOT….
In this case it is not the male lead but the female lead that is such a superficial jerk that it really hurts. I tried reading it like a comedy but I could not keep my mind on this focus…
Let me think a moment if there was one character in that storyline that I liked …
If I had to choose than maybe Henry would be the remotely most likeable person.
But even he was shallow – sorry.
And in comparison to the previous book with the male lead that was a jerk I can not even say that the storyline of this book was good. Because (sorry to say it so blunt) it wasn’t.
Or at least it wasn’t really well developed and nothing felt believable
