Goodreads Review

The sizzling second novel in a sexy new contemporary romance series featuring the Lawless siblings—from New York Times bestselling author Lexi Blake.

Brandon Lawless is a man on a mission: obtain the information that will clear his father’s name. He’s willing to do whatever it takes—even seduce his enemy’s personal assistant, the beautiful and innocent Carly Hendricks. But with her beguiling smile and captivating intelligence, Brandon soon realizes he doesn’t want to deceive Carly, he wants to win her over—both in the boardroom and the bedroom.

Then a twisted crime leaves Carly vulnerable and Brandon finds himself reeling. The stakes of his mission are now life or death—Carly’s life. And Brandon realizes he’s lost his heart to an amazing woman and his plan must succeed, because the stakes are no longer just revenge, but a once in a lifetime love.

3.5 ‘Didn’t see that coming’ Stars.

I adore Lexi Blake and the wonderful worlds and stories that she can create. With each new book, series and characters I get sucked in each and every time I read one of her books and I love them. To date she is one of my favorite authors and all I can say is keep them coming.

The Lawless siblings are initiating the next step in their revenge plan. They have Patricia Cain from Cain Corps in their sight and have come up with a plan. Ask her assistant for help. Instead of deceiving our heroine, Bran is a lost puppy and as honest as they come.

“Hey, my name is Brandon Lawless.” She looked around like she was trying to figure out who was watching her. “Um, you have the wrong girl.” He smiled at her. “Nope, I’ve got the right girl. Carly, your boss murdered my parents twenty years ago. What do you say you help me bring her to justice?” “Are you insane?” Yeah get that reaction a lot.

Carly Fisher was in a hard place thanks to her ex-husband she is now in a rock and a hard place. With the mob on her heels it isn’t looking good and then her supposed date with Drew turns into giving her hope that her life can be different. Operation take down the evil mare is on.

Now, I personally thought that they are perfect for one another and for all Bran’s faults he is perfect.

There is a certain amount of push and pull in the book from the Hero and I get it although it got tiresome at some point. It is still enjoyable. As to o/w drama I think the evil cougar bitch trying to hit on Bran doesn’t count otherwise I can’t see what o/w drama there is to be honest.

If I haven’t mentioned it before then I will again I love Bran and he is a puppy I want to adopt. Got to say I had difficulties with Drew in book one but I warmed up to him in this book and now I can’t wait to read his story.

Ian Taggart says he doesn’t give relationship advice. I love when he turns up in books and his sarcasm is the best.

A must read but then I am biased cause it’s Lexi Blake.
