I’m not exactly the social type. After spending most of my formative years in prison, I prefer an isolated existence in the wilderness of Canada’s Northwest Territories, making what little cash I need guiding tourists to the best hunting grounds. I have no desire for company; I crave solitude instead, especially during the subarctic winter months, but what am I supposed to do when I come across a woman in distress? I can’t just leave her to die in the cold, and a storm is on the way.

So now we are confined to my secluded cabin, and I quickly realize there’s something not quite right about Seri—or is her name Netti? She switches moods faster than a snowshoe hare changes direction. In fact, I’m starting to think there’s more than one person behind the mystifying woman’s intense, green eyes.

Physically, only two of us are trapped inside the rustic cabin, but I still feel outnumbered.

“Physically, only two of us are trapped inside the rustic cabin, but I still feel outnumbered.” This line in the Blurb really perfectly describes the plot of Outnumbered by Shay Savage. It is not my first book by this author I read  and it def. will not be the last. Her storytelling is compelling the reader to continue reading without putting the book down.

She creates unique characters in a unique setting. Not everything is like it looks on the first sight and this is a really captivating feature.

Turning page after page I found myself devouring this book in two sessions last weekend.

The heat between the leads could not be ignored and their chemistry was just off the charts while their interactions where more then unconventional.  And I loved that while I thought I had this story figured out after a while – I never quite had the whole picture.

The Blurb of the book gives you a good idea about some of the specifics of the story and I do not want to add more details to that as the story should speak for itself. But from that plot you can guess that the male lead has his work cut out for him.

If you would ask me for one of these “if you liked – than you will love” comparisons than I would go for … “if you liked SPLIT by J.B. Salsbury – then you will love this book” …

At least I know I really liked this book. – so why not 5 stars ? well I liked the plot and the way it was told but my connection to the characters was not fully developed – meaning I did not cry, laugh or felt devastated during reading so according to my own set of rules the 5th star had to remain in its box.

I hope no one takes offense if I use this opportunity to ask the author a question … because it is something that has been following me for more than two years now. Will there be a follow up novel to Specimen ? Please tell me the story does not really end on THAT note (If I attached a picture with my face you would see a devastated, begging and pleading look in my eyes)
