‘I have no idea.’

East Yorkshire: Single mum Alice Lake finds a man on the beach outside her house. He has no name, no jacket, no idea what he is doing there. Against her better judgement she invites him in to her home.Surrey: Twenty-one-year-old Lily Monrose has only been married for three weeks. When her new husband fails to come home from work one night she is left stranded in a new country where she knows no one. Then the police tell her that her husband never existed. Two women, twenty years of secrets and a man who can’t remember lie at the heart of Lisa Jewell’s brilliant new novel.

Review : The Blurb sounded interesting but after reading an excerpt I felt that the writing style was detached from the emotional scene that was evolving. Adding the fact that the E-book !! was supposed to be purchased online at a price of $ 18.32 (which is actually 8$ MORE than the hardcover copy by the same well known seller – which is something I will never understand as this can only come from political but not from economical reasoning). I decided that this book is nothing for me.  A judgement on a book is not only based on the content but also on the price I need to pay for it because even if this book would be wonderful I can honestly not find it in my heart to recommend to pay so much money for an electronical file.
