A single mom and tortured musician find common ground in Scarlett Cole’s Elliott Redeemed, the second standalone romance about the band Preload.

Elliot “Pyro” Dawson burns up the lead guitar like a legend. But the nickname Pyro isn’t just a clever play on words. It’s much darker. A past he’s fought like hell to overcome.

Grocery store cashier Kendalee Walker is at her wits end and homeless. She’s watched her fourteen-year-old son, Daniel, go so far off the rails, he can no longer see the tracks.

When the two are brought together, attraction flares, but can Elliott find the family he never had with the sexy woman and her son, or will he fall back on dark habits?

Gosh – I am smiling every time when I see a new book in this series. Somehow I like to believe that I talked (more like begged) Ms. Cole into writing this series. #joking … I loved the characters of this group so much from the first second I spotted them as secondary characters in another series of this author. I remember finding myself thinking almost more about the secondary characters in that book that about the obvious leading ones from the actual series (which is a stretch of the truth as somehow that book also could have been the first of this series as it featured on this band)

Now we meet Elliott. I am not sure if I am supposed to say “I have been waiting on this book” – which would be true and still a lie as it would seem that THIS is THE book in the series. And it is not because in this series EACH character has this damaged quality that I love the most about my book boyfriend. So even having read the previous and this book – I am still looking and waiting for THE next book … it can not come soon enough – really.

Elliott was just like I expected him – actually he was even lighter than I thought. Ups …. Just noticed my interesting choice of words “lighter” – lovers of the series get the meaning this word can have when thinking of him. But I really meant it in the way of him not being so heavy and brooding. I would have never guessed (if you had asked me in advance) that this guy would have me laughing at him going to a grocery store and buying 500 cans … why ? you wonder he needs those .. well you got to read the book to find out…

Our female lead this time is a little different than the others before (but Ms. Cole’s characters usually are, you never feel like you know the leads in a way that might make them boring or so). It was actually her that felt heavier than expected (ha and here I was thinking the last lead already was on the more darker and brooding side with her issues) …

Towards the end I would have liked a touch more intensity, apprehension and a minute more suspense because my personal taste kind of needed it – but the way its written will be enough for most readers – its just me that likes it a touch darker I guess.

Anyway, lovers of Scarlett Cole’s books will not be disappointed by one. I refrain from saying its my favorite because I know this author has the ability to always create a more amazing story the next time. So I will simply say that I “Fu++++g” love this whole series (yes Elliott I listend –  I know no swearing #MeLaughing)
